He is responsible for composing and producing the sound tracks for Pirates of the Caribbean, The Dark Knight, Gladiator, inception, The Pacific, The Lion King, Crimson Tide, Man of Steel, 12 Years a Slave etc....

Beyond him, James Horner, John Williams and Howard Shore are all fantastic composers as well.

I am not saying that Zimmer is bad I love his tracks he is quality but guys Morricone is classic, he is the founding stone for the others

Devi is absolutely right. Hans Zimmer is currently the best composer in Hollywood at the moment, yet no one holds a candle to what Ennio Morricone has done in his career. All composers aspire to reach the benchmark he has set.

Same here, though i personally like his work in The Last Samurai more. Both are great works though
