Has home advantage ever been so important?
In the previous CL editions, the better team would've prevailed both home and away or the home team would've put a better effort who was not enough. In this CL every team of the last 8 had played the second leg of the previous round at home, Bayern and Chelsea needed the fans boost to make their comeback, Atlético completely outplayed Barca at the Vicente Calderon and Dortmund were that Mkhtarian miss away from the semis. To not mention the remuntada Valencia and Sevilla just made in the EL in their stadiums

doesn't make sense. In each tie each team has home advantage for 50%.
If a team progresses over another one, what has home advantage to do with it?
If a team progresses over another one, what has home advantage to do with it?

I meant home advantage by playing at home in the second leg, sorry. I honestly believe it mattered a lot in this season

I do believe it's better to play the 2nd leg at home, because you know then what you need to do to progress and it's easier to do that at home (because of the home advantage). But someone's got to play the 2nd leg at home, so there's nothing that can be done about it and therefore there's no point worrying about it.

Actually you don't have 50:50 home advantage if a match goes to extra time. And it is a two edged sword as the home-advantage in extra time can be canceled by the away goal rule.
