Bar Gerrard the lists look pretty sensible. Still think it's dumb though that a player be nominated for both.

The hell is Sturridge doing on that young list?
Shame Ramsey's injury ruined what was going to be a nailed on award for him.

Silva and Nasri are the only winners in that City squad, Rest are all either scrubs or bottlers.

Silva should be there over Sturridge.
For me the awards should go to Suarez and Ramsey respectively.

agreed .
I was convinced the players born in 1989 were limited to last year and this year the maximum limit climbed to born in 1990 ( questionable even this, though I still consider myself young )

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
To qualify all you had to be was 23 at the start of the season, which Danny was, bit hard to understand why you guys are so surprised, Danny has been brilliant this season.
Suarez and DS to win both awards if we manage to win the league.

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
Sturridge was amazing this year, best English player and infact he deserves definitely to be in PFA Player of the Year shortlist (anyway sure win for Suarez . I think Suarez would have even won last year without that bite tbh..). Simply I didn't think (and I think it shouldn't be) the born in 1989 could be still included for the other award .I was skeptical even last year when Bale won it, let alone this year

The awards always lived by that rule, hardly see any issue.

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
Well players born in 1989 before August (opening matchday) aren't qualified.
Gerrard inclusion is absolutely deserved. He's been unbelievable this year. So many clutch goals. Plus he's leading like 99% of the ST's in the league in goals too
Silva should've been included as well tbh. However it doesn't matter at all. Suarez is gonna win that. What's the point of arguing about the rest.
Young player should be interesting. I would've said Ramsey at the beginning of the season. Hazard in the middle of the season. And Sterling in the business end. Sturridge has been the most consistent out of all of them. But these are players voting and I don't think most of them realize Sturridge is even eligible for this
Barkley
Having said all that I think Shaw will win it with all the hype.

yes there is this " eventuality , although he doesn't deserve to win it , this guy is very good but he is really so much hyped, rarely I remember a similar thing .. it should be a battle among those 4 said from you
Ah indeed I agree on Barkley's nomination tbh , but of course he will be far from win .
IMHO Hazard will win it prevailing slightly on Sturridge . Ramsey played only the first half of season because of injures.

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
Suarez for the PFA POTY and Hazard for the YPOTY for me.
However the fact they included Sturridge in the Young player of the year means that he will most likely win it. It's the same as when they included 24 year old Milner in the Young player of the year category so he could win it. few years ago.
The rule is stupid. YPOTY should be at least U21 or U22.

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
If we're talking about omissions. Henderson is a huge omission for the YPOTY. Barkley over him is facepalm worthy. But he probably wouldn't have won so it doesn't matter.
My TOTY
Bench: Shaw, Cahill, Merte, Lallana, Hazard, Henderson, Sterling, Aguero.
My TOTY
Mignolet
Coleman - Skrtel - Terry - Azpilicueta
Gerrard
Yaya -- Ramsey
Suarez -- Sturridge -- Silva

Silva's such an underrated player. The way he just dominates games is splendid. Would be surprised if he didn't start for Spain this summer.

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
very doubtful on GK tbh.
Cech was probably the most consistent but Chelsea's defence was the best in league by a mile (Terry-Mertesacker my defensive partnership anyway, then I will make my lineup)
Sczesny (although he conceded 17 aggregate to Chelsea,Arsenal and Liverpool) and Mignolet (only real flaws were the performance in crucial matches at Eithad and SB) were good this year . De Gea also was the most costant United player , while this year the revelation in this role was Marshall

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
There has to be a Crystal Palace defender in the TOTY considering their amazing defensive record .
It would be ridiculous otherwise

If there has to be a defender from lower clubs then for me it's Winston Reid from West Ham.

Re: PFA Awards 13/14
Suarez runs away with player of season easily.
Young player I don't know toss up between Hazard and Ramsey for me I guess.
I almost died when I saw mcagger suggest a non Liverpool player, but then I read the rest of it and was like phew the world isn't ending.
