I don't think Illarramendi is a better talent for example. Might sound crazy for some because he barely played in the past 2 or 3 years but remember this post when next season he'll do well for Villarreal.

I cosign. Especially the part comparing to Roberto.

I can get on this too. I wasn't in the minority raving about him all the way back in the 09-10 preseason/early season, and I've continued to rate him since then. I don't think he ever got a fair chance with us, and think his career could have taken a remarkably different path had he not been cruelly (and wrongly) cut from Mexico before WC 2010.

I hope he can utilize his potential at Villareal, I will watch him for sure.

Rumors that the club has turned to Jan Vertongen since Valencia won't budge on Matheiu's asking price.

If we end up with Vertongen and Marquinhos, I would be very satisfied.

Great news if true.Vertonghen is left footed,can play both LB and CB,good in the air and a leader.Exactly what we need.Though instead of Marquinhos,I prefer Hummels.

I feel like we are not really after him, we are just putting the rumor out there as a negotiating tactic since we are seen to be only after Mathieu and that gives us little leverage.

Would be happy with Vertonghen. I maintain his ability as a LB is NOT good enough against top teams however.

At least we can all rejoice in missing out on David Luiz though, right? That's worth a celebration.

I don't like Vertonghen. Whenever I see him he gets exposed. Better than nothing or Luiz though for sure.

If I were a Barca fan, I've be jumping for joy at signing him. He'd massively improve your defence.

We should seriously consider selling Masch.He has had a great WC and has even made the Golden Ball shortlist.If we not idiots like we usually are we should get a very good offer.
Guy is anyway a liability for us at CB.I dont see any use for him with us,unless we plan on playing a double pivot of Busquets and Masch.

They clearly can do better than Vertonghen who isn't that good anyway.

Everybody rating Vertonghen before last season and now he's not that good anyway.

GTFO, he didn't have the best year but he was playing next to Dawson and Kaboul FFS, with world class outside backs like Danny Rose and Kyle Walker. Oh, and he spent part of the season injured and part of the season playing LB, a position he has outwardly said isn't his best and that he prefers CB. This is completely ignoring the instability of the club at a higher managerial level, where AVB dropped the ball and Sherwood is clueless.

Anybody who watched him the year before would know that he's a great player. I don't like making excuses, but anybody would have looked bad in the spurs backline this year.

Also rumors we decided to budge on the asking price for Matheiu, so we will pay 20M for him. I get we need him, but paying for him who's a 30 year old defender, what Bravo and Mats combined cost us is just ridiculous. There are a bunch of defenders that were great at the world cup that have gone for less than half of that.

Porto are going to realise he is no better than any of their other forwards and have no interest in signing him. The thing is, the only reason Porto want him is because of the new coach being Spanish/former u21 coach etc.

As soon as he leaves/sacked Porto are so unlikely to be interested. And no coach has lasted more than 2 years at Porto since 2008-09.

I am seriously....seriously BEYOND irritated and embarrassed.

We are a laughing stock. NONE of our moves for the most part this window have made any sense.

You know what pisses me off more than anything? Every time they ask Bart about a new election being pushed but, since he wasn't ever suppose to be our president and the circumstances Rossell had to step down or what not; he always responds with, "I plan on seeing out the full term. We started a project we intend to finish".

Like *bleep* we NEVER voted this in. We NEVER voted you in. And the president had to STEP DOWN because of some shady business ya'll did. Like seriously, we need them out.
