Re: The Bundesliga Thread
BTW, Dietmar Hopp got the OK to take the legal majority of 1899 Hoffenheim.
Thoughts?
Here, I'll chip in: this is bullshit, the 50+1 rule is there for a reason. The only exceptions should be clubs that predate the ruling, like Neverkusen and Wolfsburg.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
The police stopped Reus in his car and they noticed that Reus never had a drivers licences and that he is driving with a fake licence since 5 years
He has to pay about 540.000 €
translated:
Hope of fighting relegation
Dortmund get points in Flensburg (Flensburg is the seat of the administrator of penalty points in germany)
Very important points: Marco Reus, a man applies full throttle for the success!

This just paves the way for Kind+Hannover and grassfieldballssport Leipzig. Audi is getting dangerously close to making Ingolstadt its Bayer/VFL equivalent.
Let's not forget 1860 so there's a potential of having 7 clubs in the Bundesligas, all of which with 1st Buli potential that are "exceptions" to the 50+1 rule... At least 1860 is fighting it and doesn't want Ismaik to have more than 49% of voting rights (he does own 60% of shares)
It's downright disgusting actually and farcical but then again to be expected when the DFB gave grassfieldballsports their 2. Buli license.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Well, AFAIK the problem was that Hopp, Kind etc could have legally challenged the 50+1 rule before a European court and thus toppeled it altogether if the DFL wouldn't have given them the opening with the 20 years - and I guess that would have been even worse. I'm totally not in favour of the current set up but it still is slightly better than do have no ruling like the 20 years thing in place.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
The thing is that there is no actual legal basis for the 50+1 rule, and it's just a rule the DFL has, to get you your licence to play in their leagues, so far, so good.
But this makes the rule potentially incompatible to European law, as RWO noted.
There's some who welcome the development and think it'll bring nothing but the joy of more money for Bundesliga clubs, but imho that's idiotic.
People forget that most investors will want a return on their investments. This will mean that they'll start withdrawing funds after a while, as seen with Liverpool or to a more limited extent ManU, it will mean rising ticket prices, which is the worst part of it all.
I don't want half-empty stadiums like in Serie A, and neither do I want fans getting financially outmuscled by corporations who want seats as a token in their gift baskets to business parties. UK ticket prices are ridiculous, and empty executive cubicles are farcical.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
well whom is he going to replace in Wolfsburg line up answer is no one, except few celebrity appearances as a substitute. I dont want him to write off as I have never seen him play but I doubt it, he will do anything at least in this season.

Shaqiri doesn't even make the bench. Bayern have two GK's on the bench. I guess he's off in January.

When will Jogi Löw give Geis a chance with the national team? Kid has been just as impressive as Kramer in midfield for some time.

So is Kramer coming to us or is he going to another club. I mean Lucas Silva is pretty much selling himself to us in every interview that he does and its going to be one of them

Re: The Bundesliga Thread
Well, Johannes Geis won't come cheap, but Max Eberl knows how to conduct negotiations.
As for Christoph Kramer - he has to return to Leverkusen, so it depends on how other clubs are negotiating with Leverkusen.
