Constantine || NBC

Still a few months away from the pilot but so far the Trailers have looked really good, the effects and creepyness look awesome... Not too sure about the acting as of yet, not the best in the trailers but it will get better

Looks like a good show for those who like Supernatural (which is kinda based on this, Castiel's look is his rip off), a bit more dark

Heard we are gonna see alot of JL Dark characters in this, plus Zatanna and Doc Fate, would love to see Morpheus (Dream) from Sandman in it too

A good pilot tbh.

Just the right mix of dark, gritty, humorous and irreverent.

Only thing missing from Matt Ryan's portrayal of Constantine is the chain-smoking, but of course the FCC are absolutely nancy-boys.

I'll watch the pilot at some point, not because the series really interests me but because Neil Marshall directed it and he is a fantastic director, The Descent has to be one of the best horror movies of this century

Liked the pilot. Quite enjoyable and gives a taste of what's to come later on.

CM Punk Matt Ryan was really good as Constantine. You like him instantly from the first scene lol.

The angel guy seems interesting too.

The negatives were that the episode seemed amateur and disjointed at times. For example the whole Astra, John and Liv scene was awkwardly done. But obviously they will improve on that being the pilot and all.

I'm honestly glad they're moving away from Liv. The whole "anti-hero saves reluctant, helpless teenage somethingorwhatever" is pretty worn out.

We'll meet the permanent female lead in the next episode, I imagine.

Yea agreed. She will most likely return at some point as they always do, but let's see which other characters we get to see.

Not likely she'll ever play a big role. She was actually intended to be John's companion moving forward in the series but when the pilot first leaked/got released she tested so poorly among audiences they actually rewrote and reshot the ending to write her out of the series going forward.

Great 2nd episode. The problems I had with the first one were very minimal in the second. Most likely because the pilot was made months ago. But yea, loved the episode. Was really interesting and engrossing.

We might have our female lead then. I like her. Good acting skills and enough charisma and appeal to not dislike her. She can work well.

Hope this show doesn't get cancelled.

Never knew much about Constantine as a character but I've doing research on him plus reading the injustice comics has gotten me to really like this character.

Don't use the current Constantine in the comics (Injustice, Constantine, & Justice League Dark) as a reference point for the character in the show... it's much more closely based on the old Hellblazer comic incarnation of John.

What did you make of Ep3 RO?

Finished the first 3 episodes and I'm definitely enjoying it.

Zed is hot.

What I want to know is whether or not the show is straying off of what the pilot was about. I understand they axed Liv because they were taking the show in a different direction.

Will every episode kind of be the same plot. Blood drop, mystery, solve mystery? Or is it building towards the same thing that was hinted in the pilot?

It will build toward a larger story. They seem to be adopting the Supernatural style show so most likely we'll see semi-independent stories throughout the season tying into a larger issue at the end of each season.
