Oh yeah, pushing him in the side is much better.

Perhaps he should have wrestled him to the ground instead? That always works, right? Rolling Eyes

Some penalties you deserve you'll not get, and some you do get you won't have deserved. I've always been of the opinion that these things more or less even out over the course of a season, which is why you'll rarely see me raging inordinately about refereeing decisions in the Chelsea section. Did Chelsea deserve a penalty for one two of their players being manhandled to the ground in the box last weekend? Apparently not. Did they deserve to have a player sent off and the resultant freekick end in being equalised on at the death courtesy of a United player being fouled by thin air? Apparently so. Did they deserve a penalty this afternoon for Hazard being bulldozed into by an opposition player in the box? Well, for everyone with half a brain yes, but for you evidently not.

In any event, it was a stonewall penalty. Though the irony of a United fan feigning outrage at and moralising on a home side having supposedly dubious decisions go in their favour is indeed welcomed comic relief on an otherwise mundane Saturday evening.

gil has you all well trained Laughing

and i'm not "OUTRAGED"

just calling it a push in the back is false and i provided evidence for it to help you all see through those blue glasses

could care less about QPR

I've not defended anyone (and would be more than happy to be quoted on where I supposedly have). Does Hazard dive sometimes? Yes. Did he dive that time? No.

B-Mac wrote:gil has you all well trained Laughing

Gil? I've not spoken a direct word to Gil on here in my 2½ years of membership on this site. If you've not noticed, Gil rarely actually comments in the Chelsea section, and I myself rarely ever comment outside of it. If you've any correspondence between the two of us that he or I is unaware of, I'll be more than happy to see that produced, as well.

B-Mac wrote:and i'm not "OUTRAGED"

Could have fooled me.

B-Mac wrote:just calling it a push in the back is false and i provided evidence for it to help you all see through those blue glasses

Now I understand. Being bulldozed over in the back = penalty. Being bulldozed over in the side = not a penalty. Got it.

As someone who is completely neutral as I couldn't care less about Chelsea winning or losing as I support a team far far away from them.

It's obviously a penalty.

It's worse looking than it was, I don't think for a second he intended to hurt Allen.

It was poorly timed though, unlike the Janmaat tackle which he obviously had no intent to win the ball and just wanted to take Balo out.

Meh I'd be pissed about those ref decisions if we actually stood a chance of winning this match. That performance deserved relegation let alone a 1-0 loss.

Intent or not, that was a studs up challenge that made full contact with the calf. That's a red card 8 times out of 10.

As someone who is completely neutral as I couldn't care less about QPR winning or losing as long as they don't sell us Taarabt.

The defender doesn't get the ball and the contact isn't shoulder to shoulder, reasonable decision to give a penalty.

Refs were against Villa from the kick-off. From a soft red for Benteke, to not giving blatant corners, to slowing down Villa's attacks

Spurs' luck will only go on for so long

So Rojo dislocated his shoulder and Smalling misses the next game

Are there even enough defenders left to fashion a United back line?

Villa so unlucky today. An off-the-ball red card for their star player who has just gotten back from a long injury lay-off. Suspended for three games now. And they went on to lose the game to an added-time, deflected free-kick. Damn.
