The reason, Wenger is doing what he wants is that he does not answer to anyone. Wenger has more power than Ivan Gazidis would ever have.

The given excuse is that he didn't have enough experience in those positions, which is complete rubbish given he's thrown young players in before. Maybe he was thinking that he'd destroy Chambers' confidence by changing things, but well, Montero was already doing a good enough job of that.

And of course he'll say that nobody who's managed a game is qualified to say anything, but all of us here have come up with two or three things we could have done to make Montero less of a threat; rudimentary, common sense stuff such as putting on a quicker player or doubling up on the threat. We could have even clogged the centre of the pitch and shown him inside instead of outside all the time. There was no excuse for Wenger to not do anything.

His rationale behind Monreal playing centre back is that it's a position that requires more experience than other positions. In my mind, though, actually having the height and strength to deal with most centre forwards is more important than being experienced. Monreal has a lot more experience than Chambers but Chambers is physically superior; quicker, taller, stronger... so it's baffling to me that Chambers is not playing CB and Monreal isn't covering at RB. Or that Bellerin isn't being given the chance. He played the kid against Dortmund, but won't play him against Sunderland or Burnley...

Questionable decisions like that are making Wenger look inept, as opposed to the players. This is hardly the first time in the last few years that he's made decisions like this.

He himself played Miquel against Liverpool as a CB lol. Chambers is twice the player than Miquel.

I don't even know what's going on. Maybe he is too stubborn and wants to prove a point. But why is he putting himself before the club?

If he genuinely believes Monreal is the best we can have at CB then I am worried.

Maybe Monreal would have worked better if Koscielny was his partner and not Mertesacker who himself has been poor this season. But if Gomis/Bony are doing this to Monreal now, can u imagine the likes of Rooney, Sturridge etc?

Koscielny won't be back till Jan. Maybe Feb.

The questions is is Bellerin really that bad defensively, does he get skinned multiple times at training or something and where is utility man Coquelin when you need him ffs.

Arsene Wenger should be forced to explain his tactics. I don't think I can take my club being managed by him any longer.

Wengers has this fetish playing fullback as CB for a while now and favor supposed experience over talent. He played Nelson Vivas, Luzhny as CB while left out supposed talent Upson on the bench and Vivas is 1.69 m tall.

Anyways i would say 9 out 10 decision Wengers made this season has been rubbish except playing Alexis where he is now. They way he explained things kinda make you shake your head in disbelief, how could an experienced manager like him could think like that.
