Argentina were favorites to this tournament prior to the hiring of tata martinez.
I think that's why people expect more from them, but this guy is completely changing the style of play argentina had in the world cup, even the players don't take him seriously.

I mean there still favorites, there still going to top there group and get a favorable draw but did people really expect them to go blow Uruguay out 3 or 4-0?  Argentina were never head and shoulders above Brazil, Colombia, Chile (playing at home).

People look at there forwards and get all excited but they can't play with 5 forwards on the pitch.  Again, I'm going to chalk it up to people not watching the games because Messi is basically an out and out attacking midfielder.  Had Iniesta had the "floor game" Messi did last night people would be singing his praises.  

It must be this era of football.  Messi and Ronaldo have just made expectations so extreme no one can live up to them.  Basically if one of them don't score they had a bad game.  People expecting 60-70 goals a season and not even really appreciating it.

Not even noticing Messi moving positions.  It's quite insane.

Agree 100%. If Zidane did one fantastic touch the papers would right poems about it. Argentina have 0 width so they can't stretch opposition. They have no wingers.
