well, was a foul given? Then the referee has obviously seen and judged the incident, so of course no retroactive action is taken.

If you ask me, there's something very fishy about him anyway, as wikipedia says he's 43 though imo he's clearly 55-65 years old

Matic shouldnt appeal for that imo nor can the FA justify his behavior by reducing red card.

No one's saying it wasn't a red card (he was clearly waiting for the referee to whistle for the foul before getting up but even though it didn't come, it doesn't give him license to take justice into his own hands). He was stupid to react the way he did and it's Chelsea who will pay the price for it over the next few weeks. But Barnes should have been sent off right alongside him. Anyone would have to be willfully blind or ludicrously partisan not to agree (not that I'm accusing you of that, mind).

I don't think anything will happen retrospectively, Atkinson saw the tackle but didn't give anything and Matic's reaction is a red anyway. Atkinson just bottled it.
