Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V8
Newcastle has good chances to win anywway.
No Pardew effect anynmore . Now I don't know if Pardew is really a GOAT manager but surely he 'd lose even the derbies with Juventus against Torino . Awful tradition. Destroyed by Paolo Di Canio at St. James' Park.
It might be enough to mark Adam Johnson . He , former Newcastle fan, is often a difference maker in these matches and the Spring makes all look younger so he will be in an exciting moment.

Aaaaaaaand we're back!
Arsenal v Liverpool
Everton v Southampton
Can't believe we need Everton to do us a favour to keep Southampton behind us
Leicester v West Ham
The Hammers might as well put the Foxes out of their misery.
Manchester United v Aston Villa
Can't believe we need Dim Tim to do us a favour to catch up on United
Swansea v Hull
Swansea are 8th, with a 10-point gap to 7th and a 7-point gap to 11th. Dat late-season excitement.
West Brom v QPR
There was a good piece in the Guardian about how these two clubs went about their managerial change business. QPR were actually above West Brom when Alan Irvine got sacked. But West Brom brought in the grit & steel special Tony Pulis while QPR appointed Chris Ramsey from within, someone with no managerial experience from anywhere near this level. The result: West Brom go into this game 11 points ahead of the Rangers.
Chelsea v Stoke
Well. Maybe if they score first... No? Yeah, I guess not.
Sunday
Burnley v Tottenham
One fighting for survival and the other for a European spot, could be a good scrap, this.
Sunderland v Newcastle
And the Wear and Tyne derby as Sunday's second match, me likey.
Monday
Crystal Palace v Manchester City
Man City could find themselves 4th after this round if they don't win here
Arsenal v Liverpool

Arsenal getting revenge for last season.
Markovic's pass to sterling though
That strike by Sanchez *clap*
Been a good game so far. Preffered a draw, but LFC getting hammered is a good alternative. I'll take that

Coquelin is a monster.
Not even joking, was thinking Liverpool should bring Allen on to try and pass the ball better. Turns out he was playing all game

Far too late for Arsenal to win the league tbh, if this 2 or 3 weeks ago then i'd give them a chance. It's just 2 or 3 weeks too late sadly.
They can easily get 2nd though with how City are playing.

Staggering arrogance from the BT pundits.
Cracking into collective affirmative laughter after one jokes that Liverpool will now be trying to avoid Europa league.
Looking forward to see the hand wringing when England lose their 3rd secure CL spot in a couple of years.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V8
Fantastic performance by us. Wenger has really got the balance right. Too little too late sadly. Could have challenged Chelsea if we started the season better. Finishing 2nd and winning the FA cup will still be a decent season.
Hard to name a MOTM. Would be between Coquelin, Ozil and Sanchez.
Don't understand why Rodgers, who insists on playing passing football, signs such bad players on the ball. None of the defenders can pass the ball from the back properly. Time and time again they made mistakes leading us to attack. Also no idea why you would play Sterling upfront on his own when his best qualities are to run through, not hold up the ball.

I'm trying hard to think of one single thing I can remember Joe Allen ever doing, in all the Liverpool games I've ever watched.
The guy is truly forgettable

That was some sexy Wengerball punctuated by little stretches of looking like the guys would Arsenal it up.
Hard to even say what the nicest goal today was.
My favorite moment might have been around the 15' mark when 5'6" Cazorla, surrounded by Liverpool defenders, won a header.

Emre Can is a truly awful footballer...I understand that he's a midfielder in a defender position, but even on the ball he lacks composure. They couldn't do alot worse by sticking anyone else in there.

Re: Barclay's Premier League '14-'15 discussion V8
Liverpool didn't perform that well, but it wasn't like we were hammering their goal all game. The quality of our goals was ridiculous.
There were times in the first half where our backline were getting pulled all over the place. That trio of Sterling/Coutinho/Markovic got into awkward positions, and we didn't do a good job tracking Moreno and Henderson. 3-0 at half time suggested we were miles ahead, but I don't think we were.
Weird thing for us was playing Ramsey on the right hand side, with Ozil and Santi together in the centre. I'm not sure how that'd do against Chelsea or away to United.

2 or 3 weeks ago or now is no difference tbh. Chelsea have not been convincing in 2015, and if they continue to drop points at the rate they did this year it might still get interesting.
However, they have a relatively easy run in. Would take one monumental bottle job to give away a 10 point lead with these fixtures, seeing they can even afford to lose all 3 big games and still be not behind City.
So I'd say if they don't drop points today or against QPR it's done.

What???
He's probably the only signing this season that has the ability to make it.
He was stupid to get sent off (that tackle on a yellow when our most important game of the season is next week???), but he was one of the few that wanted to go forward and looked comfortable in doing so. Can't comment on his defending as he's not the best but he's still a kid playing in a position thats not very comfortable for him.
