We were booing him because he has become a mediocre keeper who used his power and influence to force his way as a starter.

The fact that he is a legend and that we spent years loving is something else entirely.

some intelligent people can separate both, some cant.

An absolute legend for us and like a good bit of legends that played for the club, probably stayed past his usefulness (as harsh as that sounds, it applies to everyone in an organisation).

While nothing has been official, he has been an excellent servant to a club he loves dearly and been a source of inspiration and pure frustration to a ridiculous fan base that loved him just as much. Up until the last 2-3 seasons lol.

Booing a player like Bale is one thing but booing a legend when his form dips is.. well...
So, whichever way you look at it you cant justify that you know. He may have doing things bad for a couple of years now, using his influence and stuff. But still thats no way to treat a club legend.

no, what i am saying is he is a club legend at the end of the day and that's what matters. But the manipulation and the games of influence he played at the end is something we all hated. A footballer's career is made of many things, successes and bad times.

smh some fans just don't understand or pretend to, that player powers sucks, especially when the player is not as good as their acting and costing the team more than helping, legend or not that a not a good look and iker got booed cause he looked like shit

So, the club's fans should ignore the obvious manipulation tactics and using his position to get what he wants and just focus on past accomplishments? A fan base that everyone knows has no patience for foolishness (or no patience, whatever)?

Iker getting booed was awful but I can't blame them for doing it. Iker reaped exactly what he sowed. A fan base that is ridiculously demanding and a man who didn't know when to just walk away.

latest i read about it is, Porto will pay him 5 mil, and we will pay him the rest, around 5 mil as well. but he is taking a slight pay cut. how long will be the contract? we dont know.

What's evident is that he did not want to lose too much since he had two years left with us at about 6.5 mil net per year, and he needs to play CL otherwise it will be hard for him to play the euros one last time.

For a fanbase of a team that really wasn't too hot in the past 20 years (especially compared to their direct rivals), they are sure demanding as hell.
