Official: Farewell Casillas
I think we have reached the end...
The greatest goalkeeper in our history is leaving, starting a new chapter in his life and a new chapter for madrid as well
Going to Fc Porto
Goodbye Iker, you were a legend

He'll be missed. He has been ruining Madrid from the posts the last seasons.

Re: Official: Farewell Casillas
We were booing him because he has become a mediocre keeper who used his power and influence to force his way as a starter.
The fact that he is a legend and that we spent years loving is something else entirely.
some intelligent people can separate both, some cant.

Re: Official: Farewell Casillas
An absolute legend for us and like a good bit of legends that played for the club, probably stayed past his usefulness (as harsh as that sounds, it applies to everyone in an organisation).
While nothing has been official, he has been an excellent servant to a club he loves dearly and been a source of inspiration and pure frustration to a ridiculous fan base that loved him just as much. Up until the last 2-3 seasons lol.
Thank you Iker. Seriously. Someone ask him to get a GL account and have him accept our thanks pls. Looking at you RG.

sure, different ways of looking at things, but you dont understand the context of what happened, looking from the outside, so it's hard to take anything you say seriously

what I see is you saying he was a legend for the years he was playing well. and was booed when off form. wtf is that if its not singing when your winning.Mr Nick09 wrote:sure, different ways of looking at things, but you dont understand the context of what happened, looking from the outside, so it's hard to take anything you say seriously

Booing a player like Bale is one thing but booing a legend when his form dips is.. well...
So, whichever way you look at it you cant justify that you know. He may have doing things bad for a couple of years now, using his influence and stuff. But still thats no way to treat a club legend.

Re: Official: Farewell Casillas
no, what i am saying is he is a club legend at the end of the day and that's what matters. But the manipulation and the games of influence he played at the end is something we all hated. A footballer's career is made of many things, successes and bad times.Unique wrote:what I see is you saying he was a legend for the years he was playing well. and was booed when off form. wtf is that if its not singing when your winning.Mr Nick09 wrote:sure, different ways of looking at things, but you dont understand the context of what happened, looking from the outside, so it's hard to take anything you say seriously

Re: Official: Farewell Casillas
smh some fans just don't understand or pretend to, that player powers sucks, especially when the player is not as good as their acting and costing the team more than helping, legend or not that a not a good look and iker got booed cause he looked like shit

Re: Official: Farewell Casillas
So, the club's fans should ignore the obvious manipulation tactics and using his position to get what he wants and just focus on past accomplishments? A fan base that everyone knows has no patience for foolishness (or no patience, whatever)?
Iker getting booed was awful but I can't blame them for doing it. Iker reaped exactly what he sowed. A fan base that is ridiculously demanding and a man who didn't know when to just walk away.

Anyways, on his day he was the best gk we can ask for. Unfortunately he is past it.
Best of luck in Porto Iker

euh, yes it is. the fans were not supposed to just let it happen, you got to call the bullshit for what it is.Glory wrote:Mr Nick09 wrote:We were booing him because he has become a mediocre keeper who used his power and influence to force his way as a starter.

Not sure why fans should accept mediocrity just because the player in question had been great in the past.

Re: Official: Farewell Casillas
latest i read about it is, Porto will pay him 5 mil, and we will pay him the rest, around 5 mil as well. but he is taking a slight pay cut. how long will be the contract? we dont know.farfan wrote:can Porto afford his salary ? or is it another third party thingy .
What's evident is that he did not want to lose too much since he had two years left with us at about 6.5 mil net per year, and he needs to play CL otherwise it will be hard for him to play the euros one last time.

Re: Official: Farewell Casillas
I am still waiting for the day Madrid boo Perez.
For a fanbase of a team that really wasn't too hot in the past 20 years (especially compared to their direct rivals), they are sure demanding as hell.
