I think Rodgers would do a good job with Newcastle if he swallowed his pride a bit.

I don't think Rodgers is the right manager for relegation battle.

It won't be a relegation battle with him in charge. People vastly overstate his failings at Liverpool even though it was clear that he wasn't going to progress anymore at the club.

With that said there's enough talent at Newcastle for him to do a successful job there (relative to their expectations).

It must not have been so clear that he wasn't going to progress with Liverpool because you kept sucking him off till last Sunday.

I find it kind of amusing how often you try to call other people out (with false statements) given your penchant for flip-flopping on opinion (read: whatever happened last week) or team (whoever is successful at the time).

Maybe focus on yourself and not so much on others and you'd be a bit happier (this is the last time I will address your self-gratifying fantasies). Discuss football in a football discussion board and leave the highschool drama for when you're actually at school. Although the board has no age restriction so I can't expect everyone to be an adult, I guess.

Newcastle have been such a disappointment this season. How did they get so bad? Their team is so much better than some of the others in the PL.

The answer to that question is right there in this latest story. Ā . They never look outside for managers, its really surprising.
Got zero ambition. Even Watford and Bournemouth has got more ambition than Newcastle. Feel sorry for their fans. Mole Sad

It is surprising how badly Newcastle have struggled this season still. Wijnaldum, Sissoko, Thauvin, De Jong, Ayoze, Cisse, Colback; these are all players who should be asking the opponents' defences more questions than they have been. Their own defence isn't too bad, either. Losing Krul is a big blow, though.

Their next three games are Norwich at home, Sunderland away and Stoke home. If I were Ashley I'd tell McLaren that six points or out.

I disagree Art. Newcastle has a poor defence imo.
Look at the now established midtable teams, they at least have one good CB.
Swansea - Williams
Crystal Pardew - Dann
Southampton - Fonte

You can get away with decent/poor fullbacks in the PL only if your team has a good CB which is something Newcastle has been sorely lacking for some time now.

Anyone who has watched us this season should know that Mbemba is a good player and out poor defensive record isn't reflective on him.

Rest of the defenders are completely arse though.

Haidara's been good, too, imo. And at least against ManU Coloccini was great. Defence isn't winning them games, but it isn't losing them, either. Newcastle have scored just six goals in eight games, clearly that's where the big problem is.

What happened to Janmaat? Haven't watched a ton of Newcastle this season but he's a pretty solid player.

Going forward he's excellent, defensively less so.

Also Art our issues are pretty self exaplanatory really, the midfield doesn't protect the back 4 or create chances it's all a bit pointless.

Called this wayyyyyy back. All of newcastle's pivot partnerships are awful. Either the players don't fit there, or that the players just aren't good enough.

No idea why McClaren didn't go after a DM. Unless Tiote is in his plans wherever he is.

Don't see us doing that, even if Yanited cancel his contract.

The owner will see 3 goalkeepers and think that's enough lol.

If you buy Victor Valdes' version of what is happening to him at Manchester United, not only is he not being given a chance to play, he's being humiliated on a daily basis, denied a dressing room locker and made to train by himself, with the club going out of their way to make him feel an outcast. And, from the club's perspective, they're paying huge amounts of money to a guy who contributes nothing to the team and whom the manager does not even want around. We can debate endlessly about the rights and wrongs. There are rules about constructive dismissal so you assume that United -- a club as lawyered up as any around -- are staying on the right side of what the law allows. Valdes is quick to point out that he loves United and has no problem with anybody at the club ... except Louis van Gaal. wrote:

Yeah, that's pretty much his progress stalled for now Neutral

In other news, Mourinho has been given a suspended one-game stadium ban. Pretty sure it'll come to effect this season lol.
