So... what happened to Carlos Vela ?

One of the most talked about and praised talents in La Liga these past few years has apparently fallen by the wayside. hardly anyone mentions the guy this year and his stats are horrendously bad .
Did Moyes suck the football out of him or is the whole team underperforming and Carlos shouldn't be singled out ?

He was never good in the first place lol, was absolutely dog shit in England and because he has one good season in a league were the majority can't defend and it's open so apparently he's good.

He wasn't interested in football. Wanted to live a career like past it Dinho. Has talent to succeed for any midtable club though as he showed for Sociedad at full strength. But he has been an embarrassment this season. Doesn't even care anymore.
Probably will disappear somewhere till 29 when he will be signed by West Brom and then loaned to Al Shabbab FC

Pretty much what RG said. He's rarely in shape, and looks even more disinterested than ever on the field. If he had Hernadez mentality he'd be at a decent club, but he's probably off to MLS next season for the $$$. Not that I blame him at this point.

Two very good seasons, one excellent season since he signed for La Real. He played almost all of last season with injury after aggravating it with Moyes. Now he does not care. He never did play with passion like you see with other, but now he just prefers to walk around.

To say he was never good in the first place is hilarious, he showed enough quality enough times to prove there was something special.
But he has fallen on the wayside as mentioned and I think he lacks focus/drive which is a shame as when he is on it, he's a gem of a player.
Sadly I think we have seen the best of Vela and his career will trickle away in some random places.
Tbh I don't think he is in love with football in the same way a lot of other young players who have had his talent are.
It's just a job to him that he happens to do which is a shame, I think the passion is not there anymore which would explain a lack of desire to stay in shape.

You could realize he had a character very weird when he refused to play for the NT. Basically noone chooses this (except if you're old,but this is another case..)
