Some of the fouls were questionable flagrants, but others were incidental and light "slaps" that happened to make contact with his head. I don't know the exact ruling, but the NBA definitely protects the stars more than they do players like Lin.

Lin is pretty popular with the people though. Worldwide his star appeal is unquestionable. The issue seems to be that the NBA pretty much forces players to be loud if they want to get these calls. Even Kawhi, probably the second best player in the league, doesn't get these calls from the refs. The onus should not be on the players to have the refs do their job correctly.

A lot of it depends how players take the contact imo, refs look for certain things and if they don't see it then they won't blow the whistle.

Just to use an example Rose constantly gets fouled going to the rim but because he turns his body in such a way when taking the contact the refs don't give him the calls like they probably should.
