truthfully yeah it's a fk up but all that really happened was that he got out paced then tried making up for it by getting back in the defensive line to make him offside.

seems dumb but what else could he have really done?

have you watched the game? the amount of misplaced passes between MSN were horrible. midfield against atletico will be iniesta arda rakitic. we're good

he did run with him, just williams is faster

even alba couldn't outrun williams in other games, and he has one of the fastest acceleration in our team

Defense and midfield couldn't cope and play the ball forward in the first half at all. That was the problem.

Yeah, why even try when you're slower? Mathieu is even faster than Alba. But he probably saw cigarellos on the ground which got him distracted.

mathieu's top speed is faster than alba but his acceleration is crap, which he lost the race.

that goal was a product of a highline defense vs a very pacey winger, sht happens highline has many advantages and some disadvantages such as the way that goal was scored.

Yeah. Vermaelen's presence and Mascherano in midfield turned out to be a bigger problem than Mathieu at LB in the end.
