I think it's safe to say that what we witnessed early on in the match was probably one of the most upsetting and distressing event in football history.

Too upset to write anything more. I can't imagine anyone out there who didn't feel sorry for him. He looked so hyped up for the final. But in the end there was nothing but tears for Ronaldo.

Really hope Portugal wins the Final now. No chance of that happening as the talisman isn't on and there is no one to lead Portugal anymore. But in a sense Ronaldo's spirit is with the team. And with Ronaldo is our spirit.

I agree. It was heartbreaking to see, and respect to him for trying so hard. Most of all I hope it's no as serious as it might be from the looks of it.

However, Portugal clearly are not missing him awfully. In fact, they've been the better team since he's off.

RG said it all with that last post. That picture is just downright heartbreaking in a proper sense of the word. Although ronaldo limas night in paris, and injury in inter remains the most heart breaking thing I ever witnessed in football with C.Ronaldo (euro final) and Neymar (WC QF) coming a close second.
Our hearts are with ronaldo tbh.. Even as much as I hate him, it was hard to actually watch it happen to him.

We've been calling him commander for 3+ years. Stop your endless complaining.

I'm honestly, and all kidding aside, really happy for him. He had won everything on club level, individually and collectively. The only thing missing was a major trophy with Portugal and now he has done it. Granted, he was forced out due to injury but it wasn't his fault, and he helped Portugal reach the final on multiple occasions throughout the tournament.

Portugal have been getting a lot of criticism for drawing "weak" teams, even though that wasn't the case. But now they have silenced everybody by beating France on their home turf in France.

Congratulations Portugal, congratulations Kommander! You're now a legend of the game.
