Sky in Italy: Napoli reject latest €23m Everton offer for Manolo Gabbiadini. Asking price €25m + €5m. Everton only offered extra €500,000

I don't think Sarri likes him, though I very much doubt he'll go too Everton. Gabbiadini himself is pushing for Fiorentina but their asking price for Kalinic in return is excessive.
Personally hope that Gabbiadini stays at Napoli and fights for his place against Milik.

It's still absolutely mind boggling how, with all these countless quality forwards moving clubs and being transferred, Arsenal as the most prominent club in need of a forward would end up with some random guy called Lucas Perez, a name sounding like a generic composite of typical football-related names.

Gabbiadini and Napoli have strained relationships after he was perma benched behind Higuain, and then we Higuain was sold, Napoli went very publicly for Icardi. It was a statement of them not trusting him to be the main man. Then they signed Milik. So he wants assurances or to leave.
Arsenal should get on that imo.

What's so great about Gabbiadini? Looks like another average level striker to me.

According to Overmars it's very likely we will buy Zyiech (absolute dream signing) as a reaction to "crazy, unexpected things" he said he expects to happen next week. Almost certainly means Bazoer is leaving the club. He was also dropped to the bench today and not subbed on later.
I just wonder where he might go as there are almost no rumours at all some italian clubs seem most likely.

Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. IV
He is a modern striker. No real weaknesses, and a great left foot.
He always delivers but always to be almost there in terms of getting more responsibility. Before cause he was really young, then because of Higuain, and now a bad rapport with Napoli.
He is very good at link up and with very good movement. His shot is excellent. He is not particularly strong so that's his main flaw as a CF. But since he is versatile he has also played on the right wing as an inside to read cutting in.
He plays like a Lewandowski-lite. I'm sure that he could deliver (as he usually does) if he is trusted in Napoli.

I think you're over hyping him a bit too much imo

He's better than average. Nothing spectacular but nonetheless a good player.

Yeah I agree. But in terms of people suggesting Arsenal... how is he better than what they already have? I think he's worse. He needs to develop at a mid level club while he's young, hone his skills, and if he really shows out THEN move to a top club.
Footballers are dumber than in the past it seems. It doesn't sink in that sitting on the bench of a top club is actually far worse than playing regularly for a mid level one. If someone offers you bank, then fair enough. But if wages are similar, I don't get it.

It's pretty good Rincon. They've missed Koscielny, Ozil, Giroud and Ramsey due to the Euro and an injury... but they're talented. They lack a killer or two and that's about it.
With Mustafi, I really like Arsenal's defense for the first time since Lee Dixon et al. retired lol.

Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. IV
They are good, but they aren't great. They failed to put up a title fight against Leicester City. They weren't even second place until the end. Their defense has holes and their midfield is soft. Alexis and ozil are too far above the rest.
Napoli is a more complete team with a better gameplan. Their defense is good, their midfield is excellent and very balanced. In attack they are weaker, but the balance is positive. Add Maurizio Sarri.

Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. IV
I don't know man. Here's Arsenal's top 11
Cech
Bellerin - Mustafi - Koscielny -Monreal
Xhaka
Ramsey - Cazorla
Sanchez - Giroud - Ozil
No way Napoli is as good as that. I'm not even mentioning players like Chamberlain, Wilshere, Lopez, Coquelin, Chambers, Debuchy, etc. coming off the bench.
Xhaka is extremely good btw.

RG.. Xhaka is the real deal. Hope he stays healthy. Along with Mustafi, I'm cautiously optimistic now.

Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. IV
Pure nonsense. Napoli sold their best player this window and Arsenal are stronger than them in every position.
Still can't believe they haven't found a decent replacement for Higgy. Milik?

Re: 2016/17 Summer Transfer Rumours Mk. IV
Names are just names. Watch them play. Arsenal has never been bad on paper but they run into the same problems every time. Blame on the players or on Wenger. Even on paper, the only thing Arsenal has over Napoli is the attack cause they have Ozil and Alexis. The other lines are weaker.
Allan-Jorginho-Hamsik
is a comfortably better mid. They play together extremely well and each is very good at what they do.
Hysaj - Tonelli/Albiol - Koulibaly - Ghoulam
is also more reliable.
But above all is how they play as a team. Arsenal has looked jaded for too long.

Arsenal are stronger in every position if you only watch the PL
