Funny how we supposedly have the money for a huge signing and Wenger consistently says we'll only sign top class players, while we're simultaneously haggling over peanuts at the tail-end of relatively cheap deals.

Still hoping for Griezmann tbh. We need quality not just quantity; if we get someone who won't be a starter, we'll just end up having to sell a striker when we make the move we wanted to make a year or so from now and in the interim will not really improve like we need to. But, it's better than nothing...

Funny thing about people begging for Griezmann is that he's not even a no. 9 Guy thrives on playing off a CF and ghosting into spaces left behind by defenders when they're occupied with another forward. Which means changing our system a bit to let him play behind Giroud or asking him to adapt to a new role.

All fantasy, anyway. If you're him right now you're not trading Simeone for Wenger.

As for Lucas, we'll go through all the usual ups and downs, done-not done, bids accepted/rejected, and all the other bullshit before he actually signs on deadline day. At least we won't have long to wait.

I don't for one second thing he was amongst the club's top choices for a CF but the injuries to Mert and Gabriel might have changed things, in that there was a sudden need to spend more on a CB once it became apparent we wouldn't be able to just rely on Holding (even though it could end up being that way). I'm still not convinced, though. If Arsenal want to push and spend big on a CB and CF they can do so.

Well...we should be thankful Wenger finally found a player he believes can improve us, its funny United replaced RVP before we did.

Tbh, I would take anyone over Giroud, in a way I am glad we signing someone.

We just needed someone, anyone else who actually tries to score goals. Outside of Giroud and Alexis, everyone else is a pass first type of player. Even Welbeck is like that.
