Arsenal Vs Reading
Emirates Stadium

Team was more or less announced by Arsene already. Good news is that Giroud seems to be back and will be involved. Not sure whether he will start or come off the bench.
Too soon for Ramsey but I hope he makes the bench.
Not sure how reading are doing but we should be able to win this and progress.

Would start one of Giroud/Lucas and the other off the bench. Both get a bite at ST for one half each or something, while the wing spot is opened up for a youth player - keeping in the tradition of the cup.

Gl was down during the match so obviously we couldn't discuss it then
But this was perhaps one of the most boring Arsenal performances we have seen this season. Dull match.
Fact that Oxlade scored twice after giving a shit performance sums it up.
Was impressed with Maitland-Niles. Rob Holding looks promising but we knew that.
Good to see Giroud back.

Cant ask for much, these dudes rarely ever play. I suppose the team could up their game against better opponent.

I'm a bit worried about Iwobi's performances lately.
He's gone from an exciting attacking player who dribbles past players with ease, plays through balls like nothing, even works hard by making runs to get in behind the defence and has amazing technique to a player who just has amazing technique. He's becoming a safe player like Nasri and Hleb as opposed to risk-taking Marco Reus-- or what we were hoping him to be.

Re: Arsenal Vs Reading [EFL cup 4th round]
I didn't see anything that could be considered "safe" about Iwobi's performance last night. If the pass wasn't on he actually had attempts from outside the box, which is something Hleb or Nasri never did.
Chamberlain had a poor game despite scoring twice. Constantly overhit his passes and crosses and looked to be trying too hard to impress.
I really liked what I saw from Lucas. His movement and link-up play around the box are excellent and he never stops moving. The goals will come for him if he gets a chance up front.

I liked Lucas too. In fact, I liked him each time he appeared. Looks like a good signing for that price. And entering his 'prime' too, from an age perspective

Need to realise that Iwobi is 20 and he will have phases during the season where he will be bad. It's very rare that someone that young goes entire season giving great performances.

Lads doing alright. As long as he doesn't end up like Ox and/or Jack.

Jack's problem was always physical, not really mental.
Iwobi wont end up like either of them. Compared to those two, he seems very level headed and mature. He will have his phases. I feel he will be a player on Ray Parlour's level. Not really setting the world alight, but very important and useful to the manager.
