How do you rate Liverpool's transfers under Klopp? Mane excellent but the others?

Tired of Milan going for players who have ONE good half a season or our corollary, that if they perform for us therefore it warrants a transfer. Kessie is young indeed but his ceiling isn't that high at all and is made to look good by Gasperini who is the master of making young scrubs look good.

Klavan, Karius, Grujic were signed for squad depth for measly fees. They don't even count.

NO he was signed for competition for Mignolet

If you forgot Mignolet was given a huge contract extension at the end of last season. Klopp had no plans to sell Mignolet. He brought Karius to see whichever one could take the spot for themselves and Mignolet has actually been good since Karius came in lol so it worked.

Klopp himself declared Karius the no 1 at the beginning of the season.

He also gave him THE SHIRT NO 1

Then after he lookes not quite settled for 5 games (unbelievable isn't it, kid changes clubs, countries, and leagues and isn't settled immediately!), and Carragher tweets some BS and Neville croaks some BS on TV and Karius was never again seen.

Genuinely feel sorry for the way Karius was treated. Shameful really, destroy a lads confidence after a few games and drop him for the rest of the season, hopefully he finds his feet again and they sell him this summer.

Mignolet was the number to start the season you fool. Karius was injured. Quit rewriting history.

Because Mignolet continued being shit in those 5 games, Karius was given given the starting job. He also shit the bed in the 10 games in a row that he started. So Mignolet was given another chance. Mignolet has been great since then.

Klopp has had no reason to drop Mignolet. It's Karius's own fault for not taking advantage of the opportunity.

How was he treated? What do you even know about this situation?

He broke his hand in preseason and was injured at the start of the season. Mignolet was the starter until he played like shit. Then Karius was given a run of 10 straight games as a stater in which he was even worst than Mignolet. Then Mignolet was given the starting back and he has been good ever since. There's been no need to bring Karius back.

That's what competition means. The two competed for the position and Mignolet has won out so far. Until his form dips again, Karius sits on the bench.

Just because Ulreich is starting as Bayern GK at the moment doesn't make him no 1 does it

Klopp calls the starter the number 1. He would use that phrase even if Manninger was the number one for 1 match. I've watched practically every news conference Klopp has given sine his time at Liverpool. he's very loose with his phrasing regarding this.

The fact of the matter is that Karius was given a chance after his injury and he was really bad so Mignolet was given a second chance and he's been great since then given Klopp no reason to drop him.

Grujic was an 19 year old when we signed him who has been injured for the whole season pretty much. He does not count.

Klavan and Karius were 4m each and 100% brought in for squad depth and competition.

I'm not going to lose sleep over the fact that Klavan a 4th choice CB has been sub par and call Klopp's signings failure because of that. He hardly counts.

You can only take a man's word at face value and at face value, he literally called Karius his no. 1 (gave him the no. 1 jersey too but apparently that doesn't count). One can say he said "at the moment" as some sort of defense but I personally find it doesn't hold up. Nor does McAgger's overreaching angle of him being signed as "competition".

So what, at the moment Mignolet is no. 1 and Karius is number 2.

Like I said Klopp is very liberal with this sort of phrasing for all positions.

I really don't understand what the argument is right now. What are you guys arguing? Karius was brought to be competition for Mignolet. Not as the new coming of Oliver Kahn. That is 100% true.
