It seems to be a list based on hype or maybe fifa ratings. Its not the worst list, but there are too many red flags.

Glik should be much further up that list. Crazy he's not drawing as much attention as he should.

The very least the writer of said list could have done was actually separate fullbacks and centre backs. Because Marcelo at no. 2 doesn't make sense unless they are saying since Marcelo is one of, if not the best left back in the world then, in theory, he is one of the best defenders in the world (a fullback is a defender).

And yet he is the worst player on that list at defending

At the end of the day, those (IMO pointless) lists always come down to the matter of preference and subjectivity, which pretty much makes them worthless. Not taking into account the ones influenced by in-game ratings, because they're irrelevant completely.

However, this one is not THAT bad but the order in which the players are presented is all over the place. Looking already from the top, Marcelo at #2? He barely can even be called a defender. Also, sneaking a Danny Rose in there is such an English thing to do.

Carvajal not even making the list is very weird.

Because nearly everyone on that list is questionable.

You want people to go through each laughable inclusion 1 by 1?

Like i said i'm not mad at #1 so who cares really.

With Marcelo I think it's more about what he offers overall and his strengths. It's about accepting him for who he is. He's arguably the best attacking LB/LWB in the world, hugely influential and he's in great form currently. Regardless of his defensive shortcomings, what he does is still World class. There's nobody quite like him.

Koscielny should be top 5 easily.

No way Chiellini is that good. funny how 2 good CL legs and all his dumbassedness is forgotten. And then to not put Barzagli makes it even hilariouser. and where TF is Sandro?

3 Juve defenders on that list, but no Alex Sandro who's been our best and most consistent player of the season by far
