Paramount Pictures and J.J. Abrams are teaming up to adapt Your Name

Eric Heisserer, who was nominated for an Oscar for penning the script to the Denis Villeneuve-directed sci-fi drama Arrival, is on board to write the screenplay for the adaptation, which will be live action.

Abrams will produce via his Bad Robot banner along with the banner’s Lindsey Weber. Also producing is Genki Kawamura, the producer of the original 2016 film.

I don't mind it. Easily adaptable. Great team behind it. People who can't watch anime deserves to watch a story like this.

There's already made a very similar movie concept wise. Which I love. In Your Eyes it's called.
It's not body swap, but about two lovers able to watch through each other's eyes. It's a great romantic watch.

Even if this live action remake is bad. Hopefully it'll result in people going back to the original. It will 100% happen if it's good.

I don't see the problem with this. Remakes have never been bad for the original movie.

That Annihilation trailer seems my kinda flick, hope they keep the suspense and don't show us what the actual antagonist is

Not surprised they got Eric Heisserer on board to pen the screenplay. I've actually said this before, there are parallels between Your Name. and Arrival.

JJ Abrams would be my only concern about this project.

Not sure if Eminem wrote them. All the actors are real battle rappers afaik. So I assumed they wrote their own.

Can't wait either way. Been a long time since there was a great rap movie.

The director, Joseph Kahn, has already stated on Twitter he's looking for a distributor that will let him release the movie as it is right now. Apparently a lot of distributors want to edit it down.

Probably an NC 17 or something.

Reviews are great so far at least. Only PC Culture that will attack this is the retarded Tumblr segment.

Just watched Def Comedy Jam special on Netflix. Dave Chapelle went off script for 12 minutes and it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

Thanks. I was hoping something besides self-publishing. You know like publishers that look for obscure, controversial material.

Reason why I haven't tried self-publishing yet is because I'm worried about where I will find my audience, would anyone be interested at all lol? I wouldn't know where to start to market myself and my book/story. And then again, I guess I just want(ed) that psychological reward of a publisher/writing competition accepting my work. Which would then confirm to myself that my writing is as good as I think it is.

But I checked out that link and it seems easy, and it's FREE! So I guess I might just end up doing it because I have nothing to lose.

You won't find them. They get 100s of writers begging them every day.

Self publishing is something that you can do for free and it works. Reason I know that is because someone I know did it and her book is in top 100 amazon list atm.

You have to start somewhere. Just make sure it has a catchy title and a description. People do read it.
