You can credit Conte, but then you must admit he's been terrible this season.

You can't credit Conte and then relieve him of his wrongs this season as well.

Im not relieving him of anything. You know what though, he is still ahead of Spurs Laughing

Have Pochettino and Spurs been terrible this season?

There has been underperformance yeah, I've never denied that. I have said that Spurs have been tremendously unlucky however. Spurs are second when you look at their expected points, but they've been let down by poor finishing, like in yesterdays case where they ought to have taken three points.

Chelsea, by the same measure, are much, much lower than Spurs. Indeed the eye test confirms this--Spurs look better, Spurs are playing better, they aren't cross merchants, and if Chelsea lose today they'll be a point behind Chelsea while having an easier run in than Chelsea.

The difference between the two is crystal clear if you look beyond what the league table tells you. No doubt that it is important however. Spurs need to turn their good performances into points at a more consistent rate--Poch takes some blame for that.

Sounds like a bunch of silly excuses. They certainly didn't deserve 3 points yesterday, saved by penalties called from offside.

Chelsea is terrible, Conte is terrible, Spurs are better, Poch is better, Spurs finish below them last season and are below them this season, what gives? Sounds like a Napoli fan.

I do agree that the difference between the 2 is crystal clear though, Chelsea has won 2 of the last 3 leagues.

2nd in expected points, 5th in actual points. Spurs are definitely more enjoyable to watch than Chelsea for me though.

Not about this case since I don't actually care, talking in general now, expected points are a bit silly.

What is the particular algorithm used for each case? Who is the judge of the actions that should weight towards a certain result? Its a very simplistic view of football that's fun but no more than that. Things can get quite skewed.

Might as well start believing Whoscored ratings since its actually the same thing.

Always believed in Janmaat.

Deulofeu is such a trashy player, failed to track back for Chelsea’s goal and then missed a one on one.

Let's hope Chelsea fire Conte soon and then we can finally close the chapter of Chelsea FC being a top PL team.
It's been far too long already, back to mid table mediocrity please.

Conte takes over at Milan this summer. Ancelotti or Hiddink takeover at Chelsea until the summer and Simeone comes in.

Dyche to Liverpool.

Conte is vastly overperforming with the team he has. Chelsea basically don't have a better team than Everton or Watford these days.
