Are they really using it? Because the Ramos goal and this should've been penalty.

i think one of the biggest issues with VAR is that most refs don't seem to like using it.

They are using it but if the referees makes a call on the pitch and the video doesnt give enough evidence that he was wrong, then there wont be a review. that's how it goes. they use it but the ref has a lot of power

Glad GD isn't the tie breaker in La Liga. That idiot cost us 3 goals.

Really absurd that the people of Spain that attend the games care if Ronaldo is there or not. But I don’t blame them, there was a special feeling in the air when Ronaldo was playing.

Toni Kroos on the very late kick-off time yesterday (22:15 local time): "Usually I am asleep at this time."

And people are wondering on the low attendance, the game was at 10pm on a sunday, people have jobs to attend on monday morning so ofcourse not many people will show up.

Damn, have to admit Atléti’s lineup looks absolutely world class. Lemar is a great addition as well. Exited for their game at Valencia in an hour

You've obviously never been to Spain.

1. A lot of people get the entire month of August off due to heat.

2. Ignoring the first point, it's very rare not to have people out in the public past 1am. They are not a culture of people who go to bed early lol.

There's obviously reasons for the attendance but getting up early for work isn't it.

Spanish games rarely sell-out, anyway. Unless it's a really big game. Not like the PL or Bundesliga where stadiums are packed every game.

I been to barcelona and closing in august is being less and less common. Years ago the cities felt deserted in august but on recent years august is only slightly quieter in traffic and some business closed, for most people except those with jobs related to education like schools, it's business as usual.

It’s mid August, one of earliest liga starts, half the country is away on vacation, game was available on home TV plus it’s too damm hot!
