England were the slight favourites so no underdog tag.

If they were going to have some arbitrary rule to decide a tied super over, surely it should be less number of wickets lost in the match...?

That was the rule previously

The tied Australia - SA match in the '99 World Cup had that rule. Australia won because they lost less number of wickets. No idea why they changed it though.

I originally thought that in a tied scenario, the team that has finished higher in the points table will decide the winner in which case would be a far more acceptable ruling. Besides England even smashed New Zealand in their h2h encounter in their league stage.

Or they could play another super over to decide the winner.

This boundary rule is completely ridiculous I agree.

England were overwhelming favorites heading into the World Cup especially since they were hosting it. They have been the No.1 team in ODI cricket for quite a while now.

Steve Smith has dragged Australia to a very good total. England are really missing Anderson right now.

As ever.
Think he has already surpassed Michael Clarke in all-time Australian batsman quality-wise, not stats-wise.

Australia's team look quite bad though besides the bowlers and Smith and Warner.

England missed the trick after the first session. That was the time to put more pressure on but Australia survived.

Hazlewood was injured, I believe. Siddle was preferred over Starc because there's not a lot of pace in the pitch. Turns out Siddle was the second best batsman in the line-up.

Looking forward to England's flimsy line-up getting through a swinging ball against a quality attack. Big test for Roy playing his second test.

He was smashing it for Surrey during their title winning season, then got three 50s for England in tough conditions in Sri Lanka and West Indies.

He's had a lot of luck today but he's stuck around, which makes him better than most of England's line-up already.

Yea i saw that he survived early on when Australia didn't appeal. But he made his own luck in the end and got the reward.

Australia making Wade bowl is really funny.

Probably the most sensitive period of the match. End the day and look towards building another 100 tomorrow.

England have a good score. This pitch is turning on day three, who knows what state it'll be in tomorrow on on day five.

A chase of around 150 is going to be very difficult.

Heading towards a draw at this point but Australia can take a gamble and perhaps declare at 200-250.

Steve Smith really is headed towards being a GOAT test player

What a comeback from the Aussies

Won't be surprised to see England skittles out tomorrow for less than 200

Nice little interview with Steve Smith about his game, followed by a small analysis of it
