Friday Night Lights is a very good and very underrated show, I think. Many of the actors and actresses went on to star in bigger things at some point, but then most of them seemed to disappear from the limelight.

It's so fucking good. Season 2 I think, is pretty terrible, relatively to others. Don't think there's a show that has consistently made me more emotional. Cried so many times and I've rewatched it 3 times. I don't think there's a series about sports that comes close.

But there were some great people who really showed up. Michael B. Jordan, Kyle Chandler and Jesse Plemons. Had expected a lot more to become stars than those though. Aldis Hodge also seem to get some good roles as of now.

Still believe in you, Taylor Kitsch Molenation

first few seasons were by far the best

thanks for that heads-up, will watch up to S5

dont listen to him, the ending is pretty good and last season is not much worse than the early ones. 83% on rotten for S07 which is solid (even 86% in audience rating), not the greatest finale but doesnt fall behind that much

yes  , I also gave a harsh opinion  before ( "last 2 seasons aren't worthy of rest), probably I didn't like some events but anyway Myesyats is right.

Sons of Anarchy's 7th season presents great scenes and intense moments too.

It deserves to be watched, and not just because a series without final .. not , it deserves because you'll find special scenes. when I've ended to watched this series , I had immediately to see again some of 7h season episodes on youtube.
6th season is the weakest, that's easier to say it,  here you glimpse a decrease, even thought it's  very important too and it presents one of my favorite scenes too..
in short, even in "weakest " seasons you meet special scenes . So , see it entirely .

Yeah, I thought Taylor Kitsch would go on to do bigger things, and for a while, he did, but some of the "blockbuster movies" he's been in have been largely trash. Adrianne Palicki seems to be doing far better than him, these days.

It means like supernatural each episode gets a separate side story while the main big plot gets 5 min max each episode. A lot of filler episodes instead of the main plot.

So it's episodic. Doesn't make it any worse if each episode is greatness. Also watched the first season of Mr. Robot and it wasn't any more episodic than the other shows on his list.

First of being episodic does not make a show automatically bad.

Secondly, with how things culminate in the final season, those "filler" episodes actually turn out to be integral to the plot.

Agreed. The final season was next level of shit. Before I used to watch a lot of my favorite scenes occasionally on Youtube or just dig up some show related memes, but after the final season I don't do any of those things any more. Just killed my whole love for the show. Sounds stupid but it was a pretty huge part of my life. Whole 2010s decade pop culture was dominated by GOT.

breaking bad is weird for me. I mean it's flawless writing and directing, in fact i think Vince Gilligan is such a superb director. But i just dont have any emotional connection to it like all the other shows i mentioned. Couldn't relate to the characters in any big way either.

This this and this again.

I cannot overstate how shit of a character Daenyres was and how much she single-handedly ruined the show but the last season (let alone last two) were so bad I cannot even be bothered for the books that will come out (or not before he dies of gluttony) nor do I even care for the lore or the apparently canon book ending that will be different to this. GOT peaked in season 6 after that was super Meh.
So bad and underwhelming it was that GOT should not be rated in the top shows given as a whole it was relying on a lot of mechanics not organic, to be entertaining but that is where it ended and its questionable to rate it above that.

The first three seasons of Arrested Development were some of the best comedy on TV. I watched a few episodes of the fourth season and couldn't get into it as much. Is it worth giving it another shot?

Glad to see I'm not the only one.Proud
It was even hard to finish for me. first 2 season were slow, it goes to improve, good moments but then everything got lost in a glass of water for me. I felt as particulary annoying the narrative thread White + the family a   that  dragged from the beginning to the end.   the evolution of some  events increased my annoyance ... White , his wife Skyler, Marie Schrader Mad: Mad: Mad:

conversely Better Call Saul was highly addictive , not depressing as BB and rich of  great scenes.
Tbf I 've to begin  5th season, I've just  finished 4th now, but it passionated me so much that  feel sure about my top 5.
IMO BCS deceives you if you watch just first 3 episodes. It seemed a poor production at a glance. But then it explodes.
It is  free of those  impure elements to my sight (those irritating characters ) , so it was easy to have emtional connection for me. Honestly it's not enough that a story is done properly. Empathy is what what brings you to appreciate a series

Frankly if I imagine Saul e Kim on a side (intentional capital letters  . ) and w.white e skyler on other side (intentional lowercase letters . I had discussions with my friends on it and I realize to be the only one to dislike White in the world, probably one of favorite characters ever etc but not for me , peace )   I see an abyss.

It is probably matter of choice but I can't connect in any way with episodic series. The main attraction of the series is it's plot, the big picture and the story should not wither away from it too much.

When it becomes episodic the writers can put in a lot of shit because it doesn't affect the main plot much which actually gets sidelined in episodic series.

Episodic series doesn't tell stories they tell situations.
