Where were Milan expectations coming into the season? a season shouldnt be evaluated based on changing narrtaives through it.

If Milan finishes level with Juve, Napoli, Atalanta, thats an outcome that surely satisfies expectations from August 2020.

In the end Milan's squad is worse than Inter, Napoli, and Juve surely. Arguable with Atalanta.

Pioli isn't underperforming by being in this race.

Expectation was top 4. Squad wise I don't believe we are worse than Atalanta or Napoli.

Napoli, Juve, Milan, and Atalanta all depend on themselves for a CL spot, Lazio needs 1 team to lose and they also make it.

Outside of Ibra Milan's attacking options are mostly banter. Rebic can be salvaged but Saelemakers, Hauge, Castillejo, Leao are all worse than anyone that Napoli or Atalanta regularly uses.

Napoli is generally underperforming imo. The squad is very good and built in a way that they complement each other.

Milan wins in midfield with Kessie (C) and Bennacer. I would say Napoli's defence is better than the other teams and the attacking options of Milan are too much worse.

Insigne, Mertens, Zielinski, Lozano, Osimhen, Politano
Ilicic, Zapata, Muriel, Malinovskyi, Pessina

are better enough.

also lucky for Juve in the race for top 4 that Inter won't be fully motivated the week after

Inter not needing to win gives us hope as otherwise our run-in is too difficult compared to the other teams in the race.
