Udinese buy 'the Romanian Messi'



Udinese have confirmed the imminent arrival of Gabriel Torje, “who everyone calls the Leo Messi of Romania.”

The Friulani have been looking for a replacement since selling Alexis Sanchez to Barcelona and appear to have found him.


“Over the next few days we will make official the arrival of the much-discussed trequartista,” said patron Gianpaolo Pozzo.


“He will be Gabriel Torje, who everyone calls the Leo Messi of Romania. We are also still looking for a defender, considering the treatment room is full.”


The 21-year-old is only 1.67m tall, 5’5”, and can also play on the right wing. He has been at Dinamo Bucharest since January 2008, having joined them for €2.5m, and was captain of the Under-21 Romania squad before progressing to the senior team.


Udinese also sold striker German Denis to Atalanta today after their Champions League exit to Arsenal.


“Denis asked to join Atalanta, seeing as he didn’t play very much for us last season, so we made him happy.”

Pozzo is a genius. The transfer fee was probably an invite for the Romanian Messi's sister at one of Berlusconi's bunga bunga parties.

There is a small difference in that Udinese is a club that has spent most of its time in Serie B or lower and has never won a league championship. But yes, they develop youth and sell them.

What about Chivu?

Torje is a good player ... but he's not even close to Sanchez . He'll develop into a good player tho ... Romanians love to call their players the next *insert great player * lol !
