Bryan Ruiz Transfers To Fulham

PARIS – Costa Rican international Bryan Ruiz has made the move from FC Twente Eschende to Barclays Premier League side Fulham, according to Sky Sports News sources.

The London-based club has agreed to a 10.6 million pound deal for the 26-year-old attacker, who just completed his second season in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Ruiz moved to the Netherlands in the summer of 2009, having since posted 39 league goals in 61 appearances. Prior to his Eredivisie move, Ruiz spent three seasons in Belgium with Racing Gent, scoring 26 Jupiler League goals after joining from Costa Rica's Alajuelense.

Ruiz's acquisition will fuel rumors that the Cottager's leading scorer, Clint Dempsey, is about to leave the club, having been connected with Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

FC Twente are off to a perfect start in the Eredivisie, winning each of their first four matches one season after finishing second in league. having lost to Portugal's Benfica in UEFA Champions League knockout round preliminaries, Twente will participate in this year's UEFA Europa League, where they have been drawn into the same group as Fuham, Odense (Denmark), and Wisla Krakow.

Twente opens Europa League play on September 15 when they visit Craven Cottage.

Well, he's finally gotten to a Top Level League. Seriously though, I think the man should be playing at Arsenal or Manchester Utd.

At least he won't be overlooked now.

He hasn't been overlooked, IMO. A lot of people rated him and his talents are widely recognised. Liverpool were tracking him for a year or two, as were several other top sides.

Ah yes, indeed. Arsenal and Spurs were also tailing him.

What I meant, though, is that now he might get the recgonition he's deserved.
