Is this why he isn't in top form in Liverpool?

Re: Capello asks Carroll to drink less
I have read a few rumours that things haven't been going so well for him at Liverpool regarding his off the ball activities.
This is apparently why Liverpool bid so much for that Rangers player and brought Bellamy in.

Re: Capello asks Carroll to drink less
I guess the rumours here continue to spread like wildfire.
The articles on this incident mention capello's words on Carroll during when he was in Newcastle.
Since he has come under Dalglish, he hasn't had a pint worth mentioning. Does anyone really think Kenny would tolerate that behavior? Hes taken him under his wing and sobered him up far better then Haughton ever has.

That's false. These were Capello's words during today's interview: Capello said that Carroll is good player, a good sportsman, but needs to drink less. Also said that it's a private matter between him and Carroll and that he's talked about it one-one with Carroll in the past few days. Definitely a current problem.

Also, just look at his Liverpool form and compare it to his Newcastle one.sportsczy wrote:Arquitecto wrote:I guess the rumours here continue to spread like wildfire.

I was joking mate and besides under Hughton was by far the best period of Carroll's career so far so he must have done something no?
Tbh there's been no proof at Newcastle or at Liverpool of Carroll drinking its all rumours over than Capello's thoughts on the situation.

The article only tells half the story.
Capello speaks simply on behalf of what Carroll is known for as this is his drinking and simply advising him to drink less.
Difference is, his problem is simply with his form as this is the reason he wasn't called up for england. His talk about drinking is only a simple remark on something he barely has any insight onto.
He simply replied to Carroll's habit to drink and gave advice on the matter yet I don't see how it comes off as a warning or ultimatum.
Dalglish, Carroll and Steven clarke have all made praise on Carroll and his new boy scout work ethic and appearance.
The LFC staff have a much better insight onto his habits and ethic then Capello will have.
Their response? Positive.

I didn't mean it that way as I simply remarked that Hughton didn't do the job that Kenny has on the drinking habit which has been pretty much done and dusted under his wing.
But yes, Hughton is the one responsible for Carroll's uprising and does seem to bring the best out of him.
Honestly though, this is a more complicated matter as Carroll has been good for us whereas the team hasn't been using him properly to his strengths as you should ask other LFC fans on how the ball is only hoofed to him rather then played at his underrated foot skill.
But thats a matter thats also being worked upon as evidenced in the CC match.

Re: Capello asks Carroll to drink less
Yes you should'nt hoof the ball to Carroll its stupid as he has underrated foot skill as you said and deceptive pace.....
If you have the ball in wide area's then by all means put it in the box for Carroll to attack but there's no reason for Liverpool to go outside thier usual gameplan when Carroll plays as iam certain he has the technique to be able fit the system....
Also i wont miss a LFC match this year due to fact i want to keep an eye on Carroll and Enrique also i like watching Lucas, Agger and Suarez immensely. I wish luck for this season outside of playing NUFC of course
