Re: The Official Loan Update Thread
Looks like Borussia M'gladbach want to loan Andreas Christensen for a year. According to Bild, they are already in advanced talks and Mourinho is fine with the idea as he wants Christensen to play, but he doesn't see him in the Chelsea team yet.

Yeah. He'd even have a chance to get CL football with Gladbach, provided he can convince Lucien Favre of his qualities.

He is a quality player, a very composed CB. He doesn't have the experience that Thorgan did when he joined but I imagine he'll get some decent rotation.

That's very likely, yeah. Favre proved last seaon that he used rotation very wisely (he took care that players didn't get overplayed and thus there were few injuries, too).

Re: The Official Loan Update Thread
FYI, on Monday, Andreas Christensen played the full 90 minutes in the 1st round DFB-Pokal match against FC St.Pauli which Gladbach won 4:1.
Due to the injuries of Martin Stranzl and Álvaro Domínguez, Lucien Favre decided to trust his youngsters Andreas Christensen (19) and Marvin Schulz (20) as center backs and he was repaid with a strong showing of both of them.
Torfabrik.de gave Christensen the mark 2.0 (on a scale of 1/excellent to 6/useless) and praised him greatly, and other publications agreed.

(German, sorry)
By the way, it is very well possible that Favre will start the kids in the match against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, too.

Re: The Official Loan Update Thread
Andreas Christensen had a very good pre-season at Gladbach (together with the other youngsters), and Lucien Favre announced that he thinks he can use them without many reservations. So it looks as if all of the kids could get more minutes on the pitch than they expected ^^

Re: The Official Loan Update Thread
In the embarassing 0:4 defeat against Dortmund, Gladbach showed a collective total failure, and Andreas Christensen (who played the full 90 minutes) perfectly fit in with his colleagues.

Re: The Official Loan Update Thread
Well, he is inexperienced, so he at least had an excuse, just like Marvin Schulz. The others, though...
Let's say, better forget about this match and hope they will learn from it that one should
- at least try to run a little,
- not escort the opponents, giving them a 2-3 metres safety zone in which they could do as they pleased,
- try to pass to the guys who wear the kit of the colour you wear yourself
- remember that the goal of the game is to take at least one or the other shot at the opponent's goal
Okay, I think that should sum it up a bit ^^

The problem is that Paddy wants to stay in London, so we're restricted to London clubs because of it.

Anyone else noticed that Nate Chalobah, who Mou daid was more or less first team quality for Chelsea, hasn't played a competitive game for Napoli yet

Hardly surprising. Napoli was a silly place to send him.

Paul McShane wrote:"Michael's played the last few games now and is looking really good The more he plays, the better for him because he got loads to learn and experience will help him a lot."
"As a defender you've always got to have good communication with the back four, especially your centre-back partner. But I'm not always telling him what to do. I'll give little pointers because that helps me and it helps him. We're developing a good understanding."

Andreas Christensen scored, too. Too bad it was in Gladbach's goal XD
(Other than that he had a really great match, by the way. Could you please forget that you loaned him to Gladbach so that they can keep him?)

Chelsea threaten to pull plug on Jeremie Boga's loan deal with Rennes
http://talksport.com/football/chelsea-threaten-pull-plug-jeremie-bogas-loan-deal-rennes-151201176228
Interesting that this comes out at the same time Boga gets his first league start for Rennes.

Chelsea have told Rennes to start playing teen star Jeremie Boga.
The Blues loaned the midfielder to the French club in the summer in the hope he would get some first-team experience.
However, the 18-year-old has started just once all season, with his other opportunities coming from the bench.
According to L'Equipe, that has frustrated Chelsea and they have instructed Rennes to start playing Boga more.
It is reported that if the Frenchman's playing time does not increase then Jose Mourinho could pull the plug on the loan deal.
Boga is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Chelsea's academy and clubs in the Championship are said to be keen on snapping him up on a short-term basis.
Interesting that this comes out at the same time Boga gets his first league start for Rennes.
