Milan Vs Barca The best of Europe

AC Milan defender Thiago Silva believes Tuesday's clash against Barcelona in the Champions League will showcase the best two teams in European football.

The Scudetto holder meets last season's Liga and Champions League winner at Camp Nou in what promises to be a mouthwatering encounter.

Milan struggled to a 2-2 home draw with Lazio on Friday in its opening game of the Italian season but the Brazil center back remains confident ahead of the match against the Catalan club.

"We are working hard, it will be a difficult game but we'll see," the 27-year-old told Rai Sport. "We are not facing certain defeat. Every week we know we will face a great team and we must pay attention to the specific characteristics of our opponents."

In addition to acknowledging his side would face difficulties against Barcelona, Silva added that both sides were among the top teams in Europe, which would add to the allure of the game.

"For me it's [the Barcelona against Milan game] like playing a derby between the two best sides in Europe. Both will be strong but we will try to win," he said.

Silva joined Milan from Fluminense in December 2008 for 10 million euros and has since established himself as a fundamental part of the team.

Our new manager has one year concentraed on the scudeto, now he can consider the CL this year. I agree Barcelona and maybe Madrid but we are very equal with the others.

At the moment I don't think Milan can beat Bayern because their midfield is one of the world's best.

Nothing wrong with what he said. If he feels that way about his team, as deluded as it may sound, then good to know he has confidence like that.

1-It was a friendly
2-It was our first game of the pre-season
3-We didnt have Pato,robinho nor thiago silva because of Copa America,while Bayern were full strenght
4-It was at the Alianz Arena
5-It went to penalties,technically a draw,not a loss

The other four teams are definitely ahead of Milan but seriously to say that bayern and chelsea are better is kind of insulting...

To say Bayern is better than Milan is not insulting.
