Manc United and Manc City are stronger than last year.
Arsenal is weaker, but has got the financial structure to bounce back, even during this season.
Liverpool are stronger than last season.
Chelsea should be at least as strong as last season.

Re: EPL's top teams in decline
Manu scrap with park the bus-> counter attack tactics against low-> mid tier teams. Their midfield is too bad for top competition already. If they meat Farca or Bayern then goodbye 99%.They miss Scholes dearlyGrande_Milano wrote:Babun is my student But, I would not count United or Chelsea out, especially Fergie's Kids. Stoke is anti-football team, and Rooney to MU is like Ibra to Milan. Chelsea needs few fixes to work smoothly.
Arsenal and L'pool clearly in ''no one knows when they ll come back'' situation.
City will fail miserably, but has winter window untill FFP, plus a manager like Hiddink will make this team strong
Chelsea have huge creativity issues in CM area. They don't have anyone who'd offer them the extra edge to win over another top team. The Chelski with Lampard-Ballack-Essien of old would stand a chance against anyone
So I was telling the truth afterall because it seems like you have nothing substansional to addDevil-Is-Red wrote:Super_floren wannabe. Not even as funny or remotely amusing as SF.

Re: EPL's top teams in decline
They still have some of the best teams in the world Along side La Liga
But is no lie that they are declining bit by bit.

I know United mid is overrated, but they have 2 mids actually (counting Nani/Young as attackers). Insert 1 good CM winter/summer, they are on the roll, still can cope with out it greatly.
Chelsea can rebuild very fast.
If we are talking long term, I dont expect Arsenal, Liverpool, City to be a force in next 3 years.

It's what happens when a team never gives up and gives it their all for 90+ mins.
You bitter that Milan can never do this?
OP- let's see how RM can do if they had Key players like Rooney, Hernandez, nani, Vidic, rafael and Smalling missing like United had. nani only came in for the last 6 mins and immediately assisted a goal.
With our full squad, we would have won this game...just like how we win 99% of our home matches in the last 4 years.
Did against Barca, still gotta have a limit in luck.

Re: EPL's top teams in decline
the thing about city is that, sure they wont qualify for the group stages this summer, and heads will roll. managers and staff will be sacked, players will be disposed of but such is the money their owner has he can as simply buy a completely new team and led by a better manager.. ultimately money does talk and city are going to be a force whichever way you look at it , eventually

Re: EPL's top teams in decline
i wouldn't write Man utd off!, they're having problems yes but they're still one of the absolute best teams in europe right behind barca, madrid and maybe bayern...
man utd aside, the other english teams are in big big trouble and are in decline, especially arsenal and chelsea, as for man city i never actually saw them as candidates, not even close, no team spirit, no hard work, pretty weak coach, crappy defence and average midfield....
but man utd are different story!, they're still top class and can still kick any clubs butt anyday of the weak, only idiots would write them off..

Bayern to go farther than the English teams? I'd actually take that, but I'll wait until midseason since we don't know how the group stages will turn out.

You could kick AC Milan's backpart with a fit Kaka in CL at least. At the moment, cannon fodder only ( sorry for the direct expression but it describes the situation in the most precise way )RealGunner wrote:we havnt been a force since 2004

Those goals were lucky they werent created to be put in the net by a tap in like a poacher does ... they were lucky goals .

That's the interesting thing ... the fall of the EPL is already called so a bet like this is only fit !

I don't see the decline as the German tends to make it out to be Just not too savoury results on English teams' part I do agree that Arsenal isn't in the best of shape to really compete for any UCL glory but I don't think the fans really expect much this season

opta
1 - English teams have won just one of their opening six CL matches between them for the first time since 95/96.
