Well, at the moment Kroos is ruled out as he suffers from the flu, so Khedira is more likely to play. Although one of the Benders could take the position, too (maybe as sub).

It's no surprise how fluid Germany is really. Most of these players play at the same club. Hopefully all the other big teams can do this (apart from Holland).
Well, another plus point is when Höwedes plays - he and Neuer played for years together at Schalke, so they understand each other blindly, too. And don't forget that Klose and Podolski formerly played at Bayern, too.

Historically, has the German team been mostly Bayern?

Honestly Bender is a better option to start ahead of Khedira whenever they play top teams as he offers lot more defensively and CB like Howedes or Boeteng shouldnt start at RB but someone like Beck is better option imo.

Well, there were times when there was a M'gladbach bunch and a HSV bunch in the German NT, too, but Bayern always provided a lot of players for the NT.

True, but IIRC, Höwedes didn't do too bad a job there. And his understanding with Neuer is rather valuable, too. One *could* move Lahm to RB again, but of course that would open another can of worms.

4-4-2 , No quality DM , No creative player in midfield , Depending on wings to produce creativity .Can u really see this formation working against Top quality opposition. Will ripped apart with ease through the middle by the likes of Germany Spain and others.

It's actually a 4-4-1-1 that can easily turn into a 4-2-3-1 and Rooney and Wilshere are creative enough no?

Also England have no DM's to pick from to begin with lol

unless you play Jones as DM...but then we would have to resort to a 4-3-3 and truly try and be like spain

Cleverley is more creative than parker and is better on the ball. he is creative and him and wilshere are the futuree of the england CM. Welbeck over Sturrdger anyday.

Wilshere has a long way to go before becomes really good Creative midfielder that is if he develops into one. From what i have seen of him he seems more like a CM who will dictate tempo rather than create and that sort of players are better suited to 4-3-3.

As for 4-4-1-1 with Rooney dropping deep that didnt exactly work out in world cup? Did it?.

Honestly Rooney should either be played as a lone striker or as a wide forward. He had his best scoring season for united when played as lone striker and they won CL in 2008 when he played wide.So dont see why he cant be played there.

Playing him as SS in 4-4-1-1 or 4-4-2 will simply not work when England dont even have a half decent DM.They will be easily out muscled in midfield by any team with decent team.

The best way to cover for lack of quality DM is playing with a 5-man midfield imo.

I assume you're asking if this will be our first XI by 2014 right? Cleverley, Young, Smalling and Walcott will all most likely be on the bench by then.

I can name 7 or 8 English midfielders that will be better than Cleverley in 3 years time.

Young and Walcott are both very good at what they do but they lack the technique, creativity and dynamism the likes of Oxlade, Sturridge etc could potentially offer us.

Parker and Cole will both probably have retired by then.

Re: Smalling if you're planning on playing him at RB then he definitely won't be getting in the team.

Okay...so go on mr prediction, I mean wasn't walcott meant to be the next best thing? He is bloody awful. Cleverley is a starter for a better team than wilshere. He is better, end of.

Go on then, how can anyone say that wilshere is the better football player. The same people were coming out last year and saying he was on xavi and iniestas level. As far as I'm concerned, both are on the same level, Ramsey has more talent than both but his injury has set him back. Cleverley in all our games dictated our tempo, wilshere never did for arsenal. For United I would rather have Cleverley thank you very much.
