I don't know, but it'll be interesting to see what happens if this actually goes through.

I heard the NYPD aren't doing so well to handle the protests. A lot of harmless people were pepper-sprayed and arrested.

yeah alot of 100s of people have been arrested and fined....

And LOL at those demands...though I do think something needs to be done about the influence that Wall Street has on this country.

Have them make an intelligence test, if you fall well below the standard of a normal and rational human being you are not entitled to free speech.

It would never happen. A state cannot ignore a portion of the US Constitution and the process for amending The Constitution is simply too difficult for an attempt such as this to pass.

Also, this talk is generally aimed at online interactions rather than the protests on WallStreet. It's trolling that has the Senators up in arms like this, not people assembling... That would be an entirely different part of the First Amendment.


Let me be clear, I am NOT supporting or defending the, quite frankly, un-American suggestion that freedom of speech is anything other than an unalienable right. I am simply clearing up some apparent misconceptions about the quote in the original post.

You're free to say whatever you want! As long as what you say is what I want you to say.

Freedom of speech should be protected at all costs by the law but obviously there are things that you shouldn't say in certain situations. Unless you're willing to deal with the repercussions of being an asshole, of course.
