I'm utterly blown away by PvP in ESO. Absolutely love it. It might warrant the $15 monthly payment its just that good.

After witnessing what WoW can do to many people even though I was personally able to play it fairly casually, I stay away from MMORPG's. They can be really fun, though.

J-Man how are the quests? Can you do quests with other people? Can you form factions and stuff with other players? And how big is the map?

I would rank the quests for PvE as 7/10. The first quests on the tutorial islands (not Cold Harbor, the place you start off in) are kinda boring and are definitely not representative of the actually quests when you reach a higher level. There are very few "Kill 10 Boars and collect 5 tusks" type of quests. Many of them are deeper than that and include cool storyline's. Also, side quests are almost as prevalent as Skyrim. You can walk around and find various quests that are deep and engaging.

I would say 80% of the quests that involve dungeons or killing stuff can be done with other people. They make it so you have to play with other people in certain scenarios where if you did it yourself you would get killed.

You can form guilds in ESO with other players in the same alliance. For example, I am part of the alliance called The Aldemeri Dominion (Khajit, High Elf, Wood Elf) and I can join up to 5 different guilds in the game that are run by other players.

The map is pretty massive. For Tamriel, as far as I know, you can only stick to the areas that your alliance is in. Even with that it is really really large.

Once you reach Level 10, you can go to Cyrodill, where PvP takes place. There are, I believe, 20 keeps in the map of Cyrodill and each Alliance (Aldemeri Dominion, Ebonheart Pact, Daggerfall Covenant) hold a certain number of keeps and 2 Elder Scrolls. The point of the PvP is for one alliance to capture all of the keeps and then they can besige the Imperial City in Cyrodill. PvP is absolutely epic. There are hundreds of player taking place in sieges across the map. I would give PvP a rating of 9/10.

I can't get past the first tutorial mission. The game ends up in an infinite loading screen every time I complete that quest and won't progress.

I loved this game, but sadly my disc broke somehow a few months after it came out

I never usually have problems keeping things like discs in good shape, I think the case might have damaged it when I popped it out one time because the crack is on the inner circle

I'm thinking of buying it again soon, was the DLC any good?

On the map there are gates where alliance members join in, keeps which are the main building type, and outpost which are basically smaller keeps. Each alliance also controls two elder scrolls.

I don't have any mods installed for ESO though... pretty sure they don't actually exist.

Been playing the crap out of skyrim again, god damn I love this game

Dawnguard is GOAT ffs, especially when you become a vampire lord.

Only real complaints I have is

A) Unkillable characters. We should have an option to trigger it off tbh, Delphine that slag ffs. DEMANDING I kill the GOAT dragon, which I didn't obviously. So she ignores me now. I want to kill her ffs.

B) People need to adjust how they acknowledge you accordingly in future games. I am a damn vampire lord on the current save, also just killed the world eater and saved the world

Some pos who kills a few bandits for a living calls me out in the companions quest saying he's never heard of me and treats me like a scrub

Then the guards and their bi-polar greetings rofl

"Get that cursed mace away from me, get it away!" - Guard scared of my demonic mace thing"

2 seconds later

"The dragonborn! all hail"

2 seconds later

"If you cause trouble here, i'll haul you to jail myself"

"Keep your hands to yourself sneak theif"

Laughing

Basically people need to judge you based on what you've done because it's really awkward when some scrub calls you out even though you've gained enough power to wipe their city out

And comparatively if you roll up to an important event as a level 2 with an iron dagger and ragged clothes you should be mocked and/or treated like a scrub.

Or you could just use mods that have existed for years now that tweak the Paarthurnax mission and/or NPC settings. You realize though that removing the essential tag can seriously screw up game play if you start killing off characters that are required for certain missions or portions of the game.

I've been seriously thinking about getting back into Skyrim now that I'm getting bored of Destiny. I haven't touched the game in over a year, so a lot of it will feel new to me again.

Dawnguard and Dragonborn were phenomenal additions to the game, even Hearthfire was decent, I spent hours building my house in The Pale.

I might just start up a new character when I get back from work tomorrow.
