Re: Jeffrey Bruma
you are that Bruma has played some of his best football in recent month?
He has really played well in the last few games for Hamburg and played very well for Holland on the international break. Btw he is not even 20, and already capped 3 times for Netherlands.
Yeah Bruma has struggled at times on loan, but that is going to be beneficial to him in the long run. He is growing and with the right attitude he can fulfill his potential.
I think he has done really well when you consider his age, experience and circumstance. Bundsliga is a great and competitive league, and Hamburg midfield is absolutely horrendous.
I have faith in him.

He has time, he won't get first team action with us for a while imo.

Re: Jeffrey Bruma
There is still hope!
Apparently he has improved a lot since the new coach has come in, as has the whole team. According to Stephen, he has improved in everything except tackling and aerial ability, which he still needs to work on.
However, he has established himself in the starting 11 following an injury to Mancienne and after a beast display the next game right after he got the opportunity to start.

Re: Jeffrey Bruma
Hopefully he comes back next season and is part of AVB CB rotation. Surely he will continue to improve this season and it can't be easy for him not having a consistent and reliable CB pairing.

TBH I wouldn't mind giving him another year at Hamburg. As a CB, the more experience he has before he plays for us the better. And it's valuable experience seeing he's playing in the fourth best league in the world. Of course assuming he maintains his current spot.
You're right about his defensive partners. He's basically always paired up with a Chelsea reject, most often Rajkovic. Rajkovic is said to have not been impressive so far, with the pressing game not suiting him. So basically Bruma isn't with a reliable partner either.

Re: Jeffrey Bruma
Well anothre year of improvement would be good but I would rather he played somewhere else where he is a certain choice.

He played a great game today, we should bring him back. I think he has amazing potential to excel in AVB highline.

Yes! Hamburg supporters love him too:

(click on the 'Jeffrey Bruma' thread)
Comments include:"if the plays so forth, we do not have long to pleasure him!", "Together with a strong interior defense Westermann!","Inconspicuous good, replaced Joris great.", "If it helps us this year that the ass is saved, he should have a long and successful career, I will be grateful to him! Just as now many Dutch, Holland Huup Huup!"
Really happy. Also, WAGNH said he had more ball-playing abilities than any of our defenders bar Luiz, which means he shouldn't be a disaster with the high line (I think Hamburg play something like that, right Blue?). However, it's too early to say whether we should call him back at the end of the season. At least lets see what state the team is in at that time

Re: Jeffrey Bruma
WAGNH: "Bruma was easily the highlight of the weekend on the Chelsea loan front. He returned from a minor injury that caused him to miss out on some Dutch first team action with a vengeance this week. Bruma had an absolutely fantastic defensive display, winning nearly every challenge and repeatedly intercepting the oppositions attempts to get in on goal. He also completed 84% of his passes to go along with 10 out of 12 successful long balls. This type of display is exactly what had him pressuring the first team regulars a year ago, and the way he's looked for the last month will probably have him in contention for regular minutes here next season. For what it's worth, whoscored had him rated as the top defender in the Bundesliga this week as well as being the MOTM for HSV. After watching the Chelsea/Scouse game, this one made me feel much better about the future of the high press/high line system."

Re: Jeffrey Bruma
Fk he got injured...waiting to see how long he's out
Mancienne replaced him and got injured too lol
EDIT: The Dutchman scored a blow against Nuremberg on the shoulder.
After initial assessment of the medical team could Bruma, a ligament injury
have drawn. A final diagnosis is expected Monday.

Re: Jeffrey Bruma
Read his mid-season review here
All in all great development so far
His weaknesses are his aerial abilities and with more experience he'll learn to be a big more aggressive.
That's the thing with ball-playing defenders: they suck at crosses. Same issue is with Kalas.
But ball playing defenders>>>>>
