Tony Adams is on his way to becoming way.
Started out at League 2 Wycombe and lasted a year before resiging. Took over Portsmouth and did poorly there. Now he's managing Gabala FC is Azerbaijan.
To be fair to him, he has done pretty well with Gabala (two mid-table finsihes in a 12 team league) and is geuinely looking to win the title. He's stated that if he fails to win the league next season, he'll resign.
Failing at Wycome, Portsmouth and Gabala FC wouldn't look particularly great on your CV.
At the very least, Adams did the smart thing and got away from all the media attention that came from not doing a good job in the Premier League.
