Napoli is a very central dependent team, if Juventus can use pacy wingers then maybe they can expose Napoli. If they rely on Pirlo, then Napoli may just stuff the middle.

Del Piero should be Vice Pirlo or they play a 4-4-2/4-2-4 formation with Vidal & Marchisio int he midfield!

And Vidal and Marchisio both do thier bit to take over from Pirlo's creative duties ( ok neither are Pirlo) but both have more than enough creativity to find that final pass......

I think it will work tbh.......

Vidal for example got 11 assists last year in the Bundesliga ( joint 2nd with Franck Ribery)

More than enough creativity between thost two to unlock most defenses imo.

I mean, you cannot put Pazienza in the Pirlo role but you can adjust to make it work.

Personally, play a 4-4-2- Marchisio-Vidal midfield
Either Vucinic, Giacch, Elia or Pepe on the left
Krasic, Pepe, Giacch on the right
Vucinic, Quagliarella, Matri up top (2 of these 3, depending if Vucinic gets the LW nod, maybe even Alex)

i think people should stop all this vice nonsense...pirlo and pazienza are not similar players of course we know that and most here underrate his passing ability as i have seen in preseason and during the season he is quite competent with distribution...pazi will step into the team if pirlo is out and the roles/movement of the midfield will be redefined..that is all. its times like these that coaches make their money and i am sure conte has that tactical nous to get the job done...pre calciopoli we never really had pirlo-esque players in the midfield just some world class hard working players....trust conte

Pre- calciopoli Juventus had Nedved, Camoranesi and Del Piero in their prime to do the work Pirlo does.

Now Juventus has Pepegol and Pazienza.

It is not comparable but I see you're point.
I do think a vice-Pirlo would be a good investment though, in January. Either that or switch to a 4-4-2 and use the wingers that already exist.
