Conte: 'Beyond expectations' Empty Conte: 'Beyond expectations'

Post by DeviAngel Sat Nov 26, 2011 10:39 pm

Antonio Conte concedes the victory at Lazio is “an important sign of our maturity. Juventus are going beyond all expectations.”

The two sides were joint leaders going into this weekend, but Simone Pepe secured a 1-0 result and now Juve are clear at the top despite having a game in hand.

“We are happy because we won against a very strong side that will fight to the end for the top spots,” assured Conte.

“As far as we are concerned, this performance is an important sign of our maturity. We suffered under pressure too, but that’s inevitable at the Olimpico and we never stopped looking for the second goal.

“I told the lads that if we came here to win 1-0, we would lose. Therefore being a little bit open to counter-attacks was to be expected.

“I’m happy, as it was not an easy match and we won a top of the table clash.”

This week Conte declared he would not mention the Scudetto, but after this result it seems inevitable they’re among the favourites.

“I am still superstitious, but we are going beyond all expectations and the credit for that goes to the players.

“I reserve particular praise tonight for Andrea Pirlo, as two days ago he picked up an injury, but grit his teeth to carry on like a great man. He’s important for us on the field and off it.”

Same line up but bring in Pazienza for Marchisio and have Vidal go forward with Pazienza just as the destroyer...we should be ok I think as we can still dominate the Napoli midfield and they have suffered more than us recently from a physical aspect due to the champions league matches!

Would rather see a 4-4-2

Napoli defenders extremely well up the middle, if Juventus can stretch them they can win I think. However, a Pirlo-Vidal midfield will get hit on the counter.

Pepe and Vucinic will stretch them when they drift out wide...I am sure Conte will stick to the same formation and tactics!

I'm sorry but did you just say Pirlo drift out wide?

Ok thank God!
Well of course they can but with a 4-4-2, Vucinic could play as a striker (position he is actually brought to play!) and then another winger (Estigarribia would be most likely, Giacch, Elia, Krasic) can play along with Pepe

Either way, I would LOVE a win against Napoli, in Napoli

Would love to see Elia, would settle with Estigarribia though. I think Esti can show us something, I know Elia can too but I mean, if your last game was against Catania for 45 minutes... he'll have to follow Pepe around at training just to get noticed by Conte

I dont see Esti going anywhere.. he hardly plays and never has a chance to make a name for himself. I actually though he did against Notts County when he played amazing... at the end of the season I just don't see us buying him. Elia needs to play, I just dont get what the hell is going on...

Esti has played more than Elia though! And I agree, I do see promise in both players and both need a chance to make a name for themselves but since Juventus is playing so well Conte will not risk anything right now. Rightfully so.

With Marchisio out for this game for Napoli, it should be time for Conte to try something. Starting Pazienza will be a mistake- WHY? Nothing to do with Pazienza but because the only other midfielder on the bench would be Marrone.

4-4-2, Estigarribia and Pepe on the wings. Vucinic or Quagliarella with Matri up front. Pirlo and Vidal in the middle.

Come on Conte, I know you frequent this forum, take my advice you wonderful man :dance:

What I think is he might go with a 4-1-4-1

I'd say bring in Pazienza if Juventus has the lead to close out the game.

Agreed, though the formation I drew up is a realistic one, not something I favor

i want to share with everyone;

this is a really great lesson that I learned from these football coaches

don't expect too much, and you know why?

if you expect too much and fail what you expecting it effect your confidence even if you done well; you start losing confidence;

this is on whatever you do; relation with friends, girls, work ect

and guess what you archive from that,

1. there is nothing that can make you feel better then success beyond expectation

2. If you fail to do good, it reduce your confidence but far less then if you would expected too much

this is why JUVENTUS never say we are still not favorites' but they are favorite for tittle
