Alex and Anelka to leave Chelsea

Chelsea confirm transfer requests have been accepted from striker Nicolas Anelka and defender Alex. They will be off next month if Chelsea can find a buyer

Wonder where they will go. Will any top team risk Anelka at this stage in his career?

Anelka was always going to leave this season, Alex is more surprising but not a big loss.

Anelka to either MLS or Anzhi and Alex to Juve, Bayern or a spanish club.

Anelka could go back to PSG or maybe America.

Alex will go to one of the top clubs in Europe.

Time to rebuild for Chelsea now.

That's Alex and Anelka gone, Drogba on the urge out. A. Cole is on the decline, while Lampard isn't getting any younger. Busy January/next summer for Chelsea.

Lampard will be the hardest to replace.

Yes, he can play anywhere in the midfield and CM is his favourite spot. He would dictate play while Ramires runs around and Romeu defends and adds support.

He's still young though. And has to replace a player that comes once in every decade. Very hard to replace a club legend. Won't be easy. Razz

Everyone at the club believes in him and many believe McEachran will leave the club a legend.

He is our best youth product since JT and he may be a few years from being a sure starter but as time goes on he will slowly replace Lampard IMO.

The good thing though is that we have talented youngsters that can replace them. However, we definitely need to buy a RB, attacking midfielder, and most probably a winger since Malouda, Anelka and Kalou are pretty much gone. Those are the places we are lacking in. But IMO the other areas are pretty much covered.

The good thing is that the club is buying good yet cheap talents, so a huge investment would not occur.

When was the last time Anelka had ANY trouble!!! He has put his troubled times behind long ago.

I think Sturridge's loan move was more successful than Wilshere's, for the teams they were loaned out to at least. While Wilshere learned a lot, it only really showed in his following season but Sturridge actually carried Bolton for a fair bit of time.

If McEachran can do even half as good as either of them, then that would be great
