Chelsea vs Man City Predictions

Think City will comfortably win this one unfortunately.

If we play with full determination I believe we can get something out of the game. That's not an impossible thing to do. However Man City are favorites.

Our right wing will be weak though with Bosingwa playing since Luiz is suspended

You remind me of me Gil, a bit of a cynic in these big games.

Chelsea are fresh off this weeks run and AVB's newly tuned and less naive tactics will give Chelsea a breath of fresh air along with the fact that its at the Bridge while City have been proven to be beatable through teams like Napoli and Liverpool.

I predict Chelsea to take this 2-1 or 3-1.

Personally, City losing won't do my team any favors so I hope they take it.

No City will not win this. Chelsea have momentum on their side and now they have a specific plan for big games. They are going to win this 1-0 or 2-0.

City are definitely the favourites. Their European form is irrelevant, but then Chelsea won 2 big games in a row. I'll be rooting for City though (Sorry Gil and EJ, and etc)

He wont leave space if Chelsea are going to be hanging back to counter. Now that AVB has finally started to adapt to specific games, he will manage to pull off a good result against City. I have a feeling Chelsea can win the midfield battle in this game.

hopefuly we can pull a draw, but i doubt we can win it

Here is what I would play:

4-3-1-2
Ivanovic-Alex-Terry-Cashley

Ramires-Lamps-Meireles
Mata
Sturridge-Drogba

Simple, Bosingwa to me is a defensive liability as the solid and reliable Ivanovic takes my pick along with the fact that he is very strong while Alex (gil's favourite) is the only solid back-up to Luiz while Terry and Cole is obvious. AVB MUST keep his deep line that he used against Valencia

Ramires to provide the work-rate, tenacity and his increasingly effective goalscoring threat while Lamps to be the essential fulcrum and catalyst general providing the creative outlet in the mid while Meireles would provide his trademark all-round and versatile technical skill to switch with Lampard often.

Mata to play the Trequartista role.

Drogba to be given a more fixed 9 role while Sturridge to have a free role playing as an SS.

Subs: Torreshenko; Romeu; Bosingwa

Alex won't start another game for the club unless it's an emergency, IMO. Same with Anelka. Also Lampard as holding mid?

chelsea can win, just make sure torres is on bench !!

drogba should have no probs scoring against lescott and kompany.

I've noticed avb's system isn't rigid and I've observed that the usual 3 man mid is fluid enough that the mids consistently interchange positions based on the situation which is one of the reasons behind why Chelsea are solid in the midfield throughout games.

Romeu wouldn't have the experience imo while Ramires and Raul's interchanging with Lamps provides enough of the defensive outlet considering Chelsea attack much more from the wing.

I see your other option is to place Iva beside Terry while Bosingwa goings RB?

Could work either way to be honest, but I personally would have a different and more risky strategy in mind as a whole

In order to be guaranteed of 3 points, City should just wear Liverpool tops in this game

starting. I doubt AVB would further piss off Lampard by benching him again. Although EJ is right about Alex, since we are playing with such a deep back line, as shown by Cole's limit runs in attacks in the last few games, we won't start Bosingwa does the same.

Hate to say it but I think we'll see a cagey match with us conceding due to an Alex error

Provided City don't choke like Valencia they'll sweep Chelsea aside if Chelsea park the bus again.

City struggle against teams that don't let them have possession. Even Bayern B enjoyed good spells against them last night.
