 getafe beat barca for the first time since 2007 and people are seriously saying they have been the "hardest test" Laughing

Anyway this season bilbao was barcas most difficult fixture imo, Valencia were a bit lucky not to have conceded a penalty or two but that's a different story. Also pep got his tactics very wrong in the first half vs Valencia.

No offense but Milan didnt run us close. The scorelines are very misleading.

r.

Yes, Barcelona get a false penalty and a own goal by Von Bommel in second game. Should be 2-1 Milan winning.
so own goals shouldnt count or what Rolling Eyes

In the second game we were very very good. We missed goals and had a false penalty called against us. Also Robinho had an arguable penalty not given.

Had it been not for individual mistakes we might have won or at least tied the game.

Also to note the pitch was a wet mess when barca played Bilbao. It was rough on both teams. But like I said earlier, Bilbao and Valencia get my vote. Milan deff over Real Madrid. Those dudes have like 1 win in the past 3 or so years against Barca, and they have played Barca more than anybody in that time.

Certainly not. Barca could have beaten Milan by larger scorelines in both games and that wasn't even vintage Barca in either game- we were pretty lackluster both games- not because of Milan, just because we were. Kinda like how it wasn't Getafe who made us play worse, just because we did. Well, BK didn't exactly help, either.

I vote Valencia.

Apart from the 5-4 scoreline, then Barcelona was pretty much toying with AC milan. Sitting back letting barca to attack and then counter isint exactly the right way to face them, especially when your starting XI is full of grandpas. Not to mention the lack of fatique and fast paced players to do so.

If we have another shot at Barca later in the CL, I feel we are a definite chance to win. Since the Barca games our team has improved significantly. In fact, we are undefeated since the last Barca game and now top of Serie A.

Yes, it definitely has been Milan so far. The most recent encounter wasn't "dominated" by Barca at all, not sure why so many are saying that. There were periods in the game where Milan were constantly attacking Barca's goal and looked way more dangerous, and periods where Barca were attacking hard but Milan's defense was pretty solid.

Barca also got a questionable penalty in their favor, and a lucky Milan own goal.. The game could have gone either way..

sitting back and counter i guess, but since whenever we do it purists attack us for anti football etc, have to try to play barca at their own game ,pressing opponents etc.. needless to say it wasnt successful

High line pressing, plus instant counter attack. Have you seen the supercup games? We edged them, but its also fair to say that they werent actually on form.

HUGE logical fail bro. *bleep* huge. What happened to Madrid the first time they played a high line against Barca under Mourinho ? 5-0... Take 5-4 over 5-0 any day.

In what way Madrid edged them? If Madrid did edge Barca in that game, the statistics definitely did not reflect it.

Besides... as has been pointed out by other poster... Grandpas and highline defending does not go hand in hand...

sitting back with men behind the ball and countering or relying on set pieces is the most effective imo.. like the way milan did in the first leg at the camp nou

most effective way is by destroying their game play. zone defense, traffic in the middle, 4 - 4 - 1 - 1 with a master CM in countering.

If i were to lead Madrid for 2 classicos, i will destroy the legend of Barca.

lol almost sounds like u have the right idea of how to go about beating barca....

the games were closer than most "neutrals" claim here, barca didnt rape or toy around with milan, what games did you watch my goodness. milan couldve been 3-0 up by 15 min in first game if pato had a good game there, barca had chances, milan defended well, i dun rate that as toying around. 2nd game our defence was horrible (so all that this is not vintage barca, our defence wasnt up to par either) and we dominated the game at times, ie before first half ended, and for an extended period of time before our 2nd goal.

we might not have been the TOUGHEST nut to crack for barca, but i think we put up a good fight, and i really disagree with more possession automatically means domination idea

I really think the manchester city fan needs to explain to the whole of Italy, who does not know anything of tactics, how to best play Barca

Milan had to play more openly than the did in the first game simply because it was a matter of principle. The Italians know a lot about pride, and they would not accept watching the great AC Milan bow down to the might of Barca and in front of 80,000 home supporters play a defensive, "small club" tactic.

That is not to say, though, that I agree with the way we did play and I am a firm believer a positive result would have been more likely had we lined up the way we did in the first leg, with a much higher emphasis on defensive organisation and stability than creativity and retaining possession as higher priorities.

Allbeit I do not think there is a perfect way to play against Barca as they are the second greatest team of all time. All you need is a lot of luck and a result can be achieved.
