Depends on your definition of "Turkish".

You mean anybody with Turkish ancestry, right? Even 2nd or 3rd generation Immigrants?

I suppose the definition is if their blood is predominantly Turkish up to 2nd generation. But that is a valid point.

I'm asking these insiduous questions because of players like Özil, whos parents are already (by law) Germans.

Of course the blood is all Turkish, but that's just a matter of opinion on whether he's Turkish now or not.

But let's just say he is, I still can't think of Turkish defenders :p

Turkey is a pretty good team...I am quite surprised this nation made it so far in WOlrd Cup 2002 and Euro 2008. Losing by 1 goal margin in the semifinals of both the World Cup 2002 and the Euro in 2008. If Turkey was apart of Asian Football federation, i had say they were easily the best Asian team out there. they had probably win the Asian Cup every time...
