That makes sense, and is in line with what I expected. They do use one touch passing and triangulations very well but that seems to be where the Barcelona comparison ends. How do they press? How much do they rely on close ball control? Do they they stretch the play? Do they play the ball from behind?

If anyone knows enough about them to answer these questions it would be highly appreciated, I'm very interested to see what they're doing.

Their game plan is similar to Villarreal of old but much more effective and with less possession. They're one of the most vertical teams in Europe. Wide areas combined with the CMs are used to create passing lines which surpass the reactions of defenders. Playing a high line against them is a dumb idea. Compared to Villarreal, their defenders and CMs sit deeper after launching attacks so they aren't suspect to conceding either. Last but not least, the quality of Reus, Arango and Herrmann are not to be underestimated

That's some sexy, sexy football. Barcelona, though, takes more time with passing (I know this is just a Youtube worship vid) because they rely on their skill. Borussia just keeps the ball mooving all the time (from what I've seen in this worship video), it's like watching a pinball master play

@Aensensen: I agree, it's nothing like Barca, BMG aren't as good (1) and, more importantly, play waaaaaaaaaaaay more direct. They don't use their one-touch passing to hog posession, they use it to play through defenses, which I much prefer. Very very sexy football, that. And with players I wouldn't exactly call world-class technicians, except maybe for Reus, Favre really whipped up some sexy.
