Top 5 midfields in the world?

What ard the top 5 midfields in the world? In my opinion Juves (Marchisio, Vidal, Pirlo), Barcas (Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets), and Bayerns (Schweini, Kroos, Gustavo) are easily the top 3, but then the rest is tough.

Bender-Gundogan-Gotze(since Kagawa is gone now) are as good as Xabi-Oezil-Khedira.

Actually, they are better than Spurs and Madrid; they are WAY underrated while Madrid and PL teams tend to be overrated, I am not saying Madrid is bad; I am saying that Dortmund is better.

This although i prefer Dortmund's midfield to Madrid's..... i also had to LOL @ Spurs.....

Van Der Vaart is'nt even part of thier midfield to begin with he's closer to an SS than a midfielder lol.... Modric has been dominated by practically every decent midfield this season and Parker is so overrated its ridiculous....

Also its Bender-Gundogan-Kagawa btw.

Spurs midfield doesnt win them games, Adebayor and thier wide players win them games.... like Utd thier game is revolved around the counter attack and width.

Bale and Lennon etc aren't included in Spurs midfield?

3 man midfields are the only way you're completely dominating the midfield battle.

Spurs don't exactly dominate midfields...

Bale and Lennon are wingers and won't make the difference when they don't even recieve the ball most of the time, so I guess we're more concentrated on central players, or the midfield "spine".

Not if they are out and out wide men. Tottenhams losing streak was partly down to bale trying to play more centrally and cluttering up their attacks

I'd say Scholes-Carrick although you could maybe include considering how deep Roonay plays hmm

ManU aren't the type known for dominating midfields, though.

It's the best effective and dominant midfield which what i would consider....

For example i dont consider more possession = dominance.

Also do we consider Barry-Yaya-Silva-Nasri all part of the midfield hmm

That's also a good point. There are plenty of teams in Spain that dominate possession, but are crap at anything else.

Barry's so shit, he needs to be covered by 2 players.

BTW, I think BMG's midfield deserve's a shout. Considering the players they have at their disposal, they have done extremely well and do regularly dominate possession without making it a borefest.

Chelseas midfield should not be overlooked either. Ramires, Lampard, and Meireles is a great trio.

Also teams that dominate possession without doing anything with it do so because teams allow them to do so.....

For example when we played Swansea we allowed them to pass it around but once they got near our penalty area they were shut down.

It's best to look at the difference between overall possession and compare it to possession in the final third.....

Use the Swansea example again in that game they had 78% possession but only 20% was in the final third compare to Bilbao against Man Utd.....

They had around 50% possession but around 35% was in the final third....

Just some things to consider when considering who has the most dominate and effective midfield.
