Also teams that dominate possession without doing anything with it do so because teams allow them to do so.....

For example when we played Swansea we allowed them to pass it around but once they got near our penalty area they were shut down.

It's best to look at the difference between overall possession and compare it to possession in the final third.....

Use the Swansea example again in that game they had 78% possession but only 20% was in the final third compare to Bilbao against Man Utd.....

They had around 50% possession but around 35% was in the final third....

Just some things to consider when considering who has the most dominate and effective midfield.

I disagree. Özil is part of the midfield. It is a reverse triangle shape (2 DM + 1 AM) as opposed to the conventional 4-3-3 triangular midfield (1 DM + 2 CM). dí Maria and Ronaldo are wingers, or since many hate that term, side-forwards.
