Yes, but it has been won without any team titles, example Dennis Law -64, and will be won without titles. And Messi has actually 3, possibly 4 team titles.

It's basicly how impressive you were in the season/ year. And Messi has had possibly the most impressive season ever, individually.

These are cases where the best player didn't win a major team prize, but shined so much more than those in the winning teams, that they won. With all due respect to Pirlo, and his achievements, he has practically no chance to win.

Messi broke almost every scoring record there is, and made the most assists with it. Messi's season is one of a kind in football history, titles have been won numerous times.

I said that i want Pirlo because he has maybe the best statistics for a midfielder this season in Europe and because i like him as a football player.So there may be a chance if he takes the Euro 2012 trohpy with Italy.It's a lot of work until that but he have already been named player of the year in Serie A by some newspapers.Anyway even if i'd want, i can't be that sure as you are that Messi will win the Ballon D'or.It's a purely subjective opinion Very Happy

Breaking almost all possible records in Just one season and set numbers from another planet... UCL? Messi has 3, Liga ? Messi has 5... he can't win them every season, but what's makes him great that his performance is improving every season... He's still 24-25 and can still improve...

So far the top 3 are Messi, Ronaldo and Ozil, if Ozil and Germany outshine everyone on Euro 2012 and win it(with Ozil being the man of the tournament) he clearly would deserve it.

One big flaw in your logic, Messi won the Champion's League as well, while being player of the tournament, top scorer and MotM in the final, if CRonaldo had that as well as La Liga then I would say he deserves it.
