Iniesta vs Kaka

Do you think Iniesta was better than Kaka in his prime?

I personally think he is the best AM i have seen since Zidane, he can dominate and influence the game at way too many levels, and definitely stands a much more complete footballer. Golden ball or not, he is that good. Kaka was a phenom himself, so i can understand the opinions favoring him. Just want your take

Different players, Kaka was more like Messi, a SS. Kaka 2005-2007 is one of the best players I've ever seen, much better than Iniesta.

you cant read, i said he is the best since Zidane. And yes i do consider him an attacking midfielder, attacking central midfielder is you will, but he clearly is the most advanced of the 3 midfielders to me. I try not to bound players in the traditional concepts, his role for barcelona steps outside of what i traditionally expect from a CM.

They play different roles so its hard to compare them. Both are great players. But I would take Kaka in his prime over Iniesta, not taking anything away from Iniesta of course.

Yeah i think he is better than Kaka.

Kaka because he has better stats and is bigger, stronger and faster. Anyone who says Kaka thinks that.

A pity Barcelona use him as a central midfielder, you can see how much he's effective when he play higher on the pitch.

Central midfielder?? He has been roaming around on the wing becuase of the presence of Cesc Fabregas and Seydou Kieta. He doesn't play as a central midfielder more of an attacking midifielder. Xavi is more of the central midfielder...

Iniesta is a freak.

Not that Kaká was bad but Iniesta is a player who can be great his whole career while we all know what Kaká is without his legs...

Different players.

Kaka prime is allowed to take the center of the pitch as an attacking mid or SS. He is the focal point of his team. He's expected to playmake and score goals.

Iniesta is a magician with the ball but he doesn't do attacking runs towards the net as Barcelona are a very passing oriented, keep-the-ball type of team. Iniesta always keeps the ball and beats his man, but he's more of a CM cause Barca doesn't really play with an AM. Messi interchanges between AM and striker, that's all.

Iniesta can't do what Kaka does, Kaka can't do what Iniesta does.

I expect him to be the best player in the Euro 2012...

Made a made difference with the China game. He may be even shifted infront of Xavi if Spain plan to have 2 defensive midfielders...

Iniesta is better than Kaka ever was.

The two guys can't be compared as they do play different positions...

To be fair, I don't think Iniesta know what his real position is...

yeah, he should have won the golden ball at the last world cup imo. He can be brilliant sometimes, but at other times he plays too safely

At their peaks. Kak was the more effective player, but both had/have bouts of inconsitencies. And Iniesta is a CM. Busquets there allows him togte forward a bit more but he is still a CM.

Different players. Kaka was deadlier and a more effective goal scorer. Iniesta on the other hand is a utility man, contributing in the build up and even in the defensive function of the team. More fluid and more energetic than Kaka. However the way Kaka was utilized in Milan he was a force to be feared. I suppose that each is best for a different playstyle

Wouldn't say Iniesta is a utility man Billy. He makes a lot of difference in our play when he plays. He is certainly versatile often to the cost of the team though. He is best when played as a CM and slight ahead on the pitch.

On topic, both can play together, so hardly any point comparing them.
